RE: WBB: UNT Ladies will host Alabama
Might actually be a winnable game for UNT. Alabama has been abysmal in women's basketball for a long time, they're who hired away Stephany Smith(Insell's predecessor) and she couldn't turn it around. Looks like whoever is coaching there now might be turning it around, because they managed to make the WNIT last year, but Alabama is far from the level of Tennessee, LSU or Georgia, or even recent upswing Kentucky(who also has an Insell son on the staff).

ASU actually gets USC (Southern California) at home this year. Big addition after someone had to get out of their deal to play us.

Which is hilarious. Because a) ASU and MTSU are similarly situated, b) they are travelling to a Sun Belt school which they would argue is beneath them, and c) the game will pail in comparison to the 12,000 that showed up for a WNIT game between ASU and uark-f that was probably a boon to our ticket revenue.
In short, crush 'em.

Arkansas lost in the final four of the WNIT last year, we also host three NCAA tournament teams from last year: Kentucky(4 seed), Georgia Tech(5 seed) and South Dakota State(15 seed).
We'll also travel to three tournament teams from last year Tennessee(1 seed) Xavier(2 seed) and James Madison(11 seed) and we'll play UNCW(WNIT team last year) in a tournament and if we beat them we'll likely face Penn State(tournament host and NCAA 6 seed last year).
If we beat UNCW and meet up with Penn State we'll end up playing 7 teams that played in last year's NCAA tournament and another two that played in the WNIT.

I'm not sure what exactly you mean by "similarly situated", Middle Tennessee is the better program and will do more for their RPI. I'm not saying they're justified in dodging you, but we're the premier program in the conference and one of the premier ###-majors in the country and Arkansas State is no slouch, but geography aside, it's not really a fair comparison.
