ULM Lands a Big One (again)
Gerrand originally committed to ULM before being swept away by Missouri. He is back and should be our starting NT come 2012.

MONROE, La. - ULM football head coach Todd Berry announced Monday that defensive tackle Gerrand Johnson has transferred to ULM from the University of Missouri and will begin practicing with the Warhawks immediately. Johnson will have to sit out the 2011 season due to NCAA transfer rules.
"We are excited that Gerrand has come back home," Berry said. "I always believed that part of him was a Warhawk. Sometimes you need to go away to confirm your true feelings and that is what happened with Gerrand."

Gerrand was the 69th nationally rated DT in the 2011 class. It'll be nice to have him for four years.

RE: ULM Lands a Big One (again)
Frustrating thing is that he enrolled at Missouri in the spring and practiced with them. Would have loved to have had him in school in Monroe for the spring. Could have learned the system and worked out through the summer and helped us on the D line. Oh well, better late than never. A year practicing and working out, getting stronger. Should be a good addition for next year's line and one less D lineman we have to look at this year.
