Heck yes they should!
Not sure how they intend to lose markets 5, 10 and 19 and not have that affect bowl tie ins and the TV contract.

what is Georgia State Football's All Time Record?
What is their head coach's all time record?
Not for nothing but nobody is asking UTSA and USA that. Now lets talk about commitment in just under 2 years. Five years ago your budget was $9 million dollars. Today your budget is $11 million. Five years ago our budget was $11 million. Today it is $23 million; double yours. So are you on here to drag us down due to your schools shortcomings or are advocating that you should be considered for FBS? If so, based upon what exactly? I refer you back to your budget which wouldnt even get you into the CAA. This has become a tired argument. Worry about your program and where you want it to be in the NEXT 4 years. By then we will have 40k students and a budget that will have increased accordingly. We are not going to stay in FCS just because it would be inconvenient for YOU if we leave.

It's just glaring when you look at a map of the south or eastern US on some of these conference fan maps and can't see the state of Georgia or Atlanta. Atlanta is the southern HUB of this country! Be it the airport, business, growth, TV, etc, Atlanta is a vital componet, some may say NESSARY componet. I PROMISE, if GSU had started this season off 7-2 instead of 2-7 people would be singing our praise and mentioning us more. This whole process should not be predicated on the 2011 standings or the number of BCS points. I heard ZERO mention of SMU in this process until they started this season on a hot streak, now they have a potential BCS bid coming! Really? Just as absurd as the BE being forced to invite a team from Idaho to their ranks to maintain the status the bully's at the front of the cafeteria say they need to sit at their table. I've been reading these boards for over 6 years and this round of expansion is by far the most desperate. It appears logic has completely gone by the wayside in favor of the quick buck. There is no way, NO WAY, I can be convinced the new proposed BE with the hodge podge of institutions is good for college football, good for college athletes, or will survive any longer than the BCS cartel want it to. Conferences were designed to be regional and competitve for the good of the fans and the athletes. Now it's going away because of greed. Well if greed is the new gravy train, we gotta a big ole sack of unopened potential in the heart of Atlanta waiting on the top bidder.

What he said + Goes DOUBLE for the Alliance. Absolutely nuts. If as it is as mid major schools we have a hard time getting fan bases to be interested about other mid majors 500 miles away why am I know going to be interested in mid major opponents 1500 miles away?

Yep, in 10 years they will still be in the SoCon.
Maybe but maybe you guys will also be in the CAA 10 years from now that is debatable, but right now GSU is doing more on the field in football and baseball than Georgia State while spending 1/2 the cash.

No we will not lol. We will not be in FCS in 3 years. And CAA Football (the football league) will not exist in 5 years. LOL, Georgia Southern has a GREAT FCS program but that is as far as they will go. This was never about FCS championships for us. We could go 9-2 and make the playoffs and it would not make a blip in Atlanta just as our losing has not. More people are interested in Armageddon in Alabama than anything else this week. Will Richt get fired? Can Tech salvage the season? Nobody EVER mentions Georgia Southern. Nobody cares about FCS in big cities. As for you referring to them as GSU, they have lost that branding war.
