"Louisiana Tech needed to expand their tiny 23,000 seat stadium to 30,000 to comply with the then NCAA FBS 30K minimum, so they added four metal sections with 7600 seats that don't even face the playing surface. These metal 'wing sections' of the stadium may not even be structurally stable and are covered for every game with tarps to prevent people from wandering into those areas".

ULM - Looks like it was half finished

For ULM, we had the money in 1978 to actually build an enclosed stadium. Then the state of Louisiana took the funding away. What would you have done in light of that? In numerous other threads it's been explained why Malone Stadium is the way it is and in 1978 it was considered a modern stadium by many. But as the years pass, new designs come up, new structures are built, and that "modern" design becomes passe' and considered inadequate. In 30 years that'll happen to UNT's and FAU's stadiums, too. LSU's Tiger Stadium is a piece of crap in reality but they keep building over the old parts and I expect the interior sections to be gutted out and totally rebuilt some day much like the SuperDome has been renovated.

The problem with these polls and comments is that the people putting them out never take the time to find out WHY stadiums are built the way they are. Usually there are good reasons.

It's not a poll, just an off-season discussion thread. Don't beleive why is an issue, just what is and how it measures up.

Buffalo does look pretty bad. Look how far the endzone seats are from the field. Looks like a crappy soccer stadium.

UBs stadium is awful and was never full when we played in the MAC . I remember going there in 2001 and they had just a touch over 10K there. And that was the biggest crowd of the year. To beat it all I remeber them saying they got that many there cause the Bills were on the road that week.

Never have liked tracks around DIA football stadium. It just makes them look cheap.
