But just look at what the WAC will have in 2012, as the league currently stands: Idaho, Louisiana Tech, New Mexico State, San Jose State, Utah State, Texas-San Antonio and Texas State. The latter pair transition to the WAC from the F.C.S.; U.T.-San Antonio is only now transitioning to college football, having recently christened its program under the direction of former Miami (Fla.) coach Larry Coker.

So what happens to the WAC? One thing is clear: this will be the worst conference in college football. That’s not news. But let’s not draw the curtain on the WAC just yet, throwing out a league that still has a future, albeit not a bright one.

What's with all these WAC sucks articles? Duh! But last I checked almost all non BCS Conferences have issues. That part of being a non AQ conference.

Because your conference is going to be in a very bad state...not just sort of bad...BAD.

Very simply, the WAC sucks articles keep popping up because the WAC meetings are over and the best the WAC could do was bring in Seattle U. This leads to two thought lines..

1. How many teams have turned down the WAC, and
2. If Seattle U is the best the WAC can do, how do they stay intact when the WAC is on very shaking ground in the areas of bowl bids, TV revenue and NCAA approval.

Make no bones about it, the WAC is one move away from collapse. The question really is will other conference try to kill the WAC and more importantly will the NCAA continue to help the WAC due to the need for a low-tier conference in the SW.

it is what happens when bottom feeders think they can feed on one of their own

funny thing is the WAC will still be better than the belt this year I am sure and the year after that is a LONG way off for anyone counting on becoming the second worst conference out there VS the worst (especially when they are counting on others collapse to fuel their "advancement" VS any of their own accomplishments)

Because there are only two storylines for the leagues outside the spotlight.
