It's not really like ASU and the pigs. ULM and Loser Tech are very similar athletically...and they are about 30 miles from each other. They're almost 'cross town rivals'.

When you say similer, how? We have been to many bowl games and post several winning seasons. Are we Boise or TCU? No, but we have found some success. I attended ULM for a semester and have many friends and family in their alumni association. They struggle with fan support in all sports and have since moving up to FBS. I'm glad the Tulane will be playing in North LA. I wished it had been in Ruston but it wasn't. Saying we have similer programs is a mistatement.

Ok, while my alma mater hasn't had much success since coming up I still have to take issue with what you have said and try to get your definition of "many" and "several." First, you say that Tech has been to "many" bowl games....hmmmmm....Tech has been to a total of 5 bowl games, including two from the early 70s. They have only been to 3 bowl games since moving to D1A in 1989 (1990, 2001, 2008) with a record of 1-1-1. 3 bowl games in 22 seasons....now that is elite! Let's look at winning seasons and the use of "several." 8 winning seasons in 22 years of being D1A and an overall record of 121-129-3. And to top all of that, you have had a conference home for your entire stay in D1A. Again, real elite!

Now, has ULM struggled? You bet. Are we a great team? Nope. But for any Tech fan to talk crap means that they have a VERY selective memory. Take a look at records since 2005 (when Idaho, NMSU, and Utah St went to the WAC). ULM has an overall record of 30-41. Tech has a record of 32-41. ULL has an overall record of 30-41. Pretty darn similar records, don't you think? And I will put the OOC schedules of the Warhawks and Cajuns against Tech's any day of the week.

Exactly. Anyone from the AQ BCS looking in, would agree....both programs are at the same point.

I think the whole rest of the world sees that except for LA Tech fans.

If ULM has the season they are supposed to, gettting to a bowl will pretty much invalidate the "seperation" arguement.

God help them if ULM wins it, the mass suicide at Tech will be something to behold.

Well you did say "many" and "several" as if you were world beaters so I just pointed out that you have not had a great record since moving up and you also have had the help of having a conference home as opposed to being an independent. You have had the advantage of saying "we are with Boise St" and riding the coattails of that BCS money. That is going away, the WAC is becoming very weak, and ya'll are complaining that Tulane had the audacity to schedule ULM as opposed to Tech.

I think Tech will do very well against the new WAC. They should be the top dog, pardon the pun. Why? Well, Tech is a middle of the pack team in the WAC on most seasons. The ones that are staying are bottom of the pack teams and you are adding to transition teams. What Tech fans don't get is that the SBC has improved over the years. We have gone from 1 bowl tie in to 2 and placed 3 teams in bowl games last year. The WAC is now down to 1 tie in and everyone knows that it will be provided a very weak product as a whole. The reputation that Boise gave the conference is gone.

You say that you don't want ULM in FBS because the state cannot support 5 teams in FBS. Well, how many can it support? 4? 3? 2? If you are so much better than ULM or ULL or Tulane, why are you worried about what we do or who we schedule? Why not play us to you can just "whup the hell out of us" and show everyone just how elite you are? If you really are as good as you say you are, then you can just get all those high school players (not JUCOs) and not even think about who ULM, ULL, and Tulane have offered.

Tech got lucky. It wasn't anything they did except join the WAC at a time when Boise St...just blew up. Plus Fresno and Hawaii was pretty good. Then Nevada had a great year last year. Tech is the same bunch they have ever been they just wanted to hang out with the bigger kids and thought it made them much better. Well the big kids are going and gone and they have found they are the same puny punks they always were. The only thing that will help their self esteem is CUSA and I doubt they want Tech at all. Sad really...sad....for them....for us...funnnnnny....

The deal is the fans of your school. The deal is the attitude of your last AD. The deal is the attitude of your current AD who thinks Tulane owes you because you put them up in condemned dorms.

I have the utmost respect for the sunbelt and to say I don't respect ULM would be wrong as well. I know that there are a handful of your fans that truly love and want your program to do well. And honestly in football anyway you guys perform ok. But the writing is truly on the wall for ULM to remain viable as a FBS school. There really seems to be less and less fan support every year. The lack of support and money is really starting to even show in your other sports as well. It's starting to look like you are barely even able to field a team in some sports. You seem to only be able to afford recycled coaches.

so what is your prediction ATLdawg? ULM dropping to FCS and Tech taking their place in the Belt?
