Moeller senior WR Monty Madaris is considering UC and Michigan State as his finalists, according to Moeller coach John Rodenberg.
Madaris is expected to make his college decision by next weekend, this blog reported on Thursday.
Madaris, a Division I first-team all-state selection, was the Associated Press Southwest District offensive player of the year this past season. He had 56 receptions for 1,137 yards and 16 touchdowns. He also had 280 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

Hi all, new poster here to this forum...
Armstrong looks super fast and a very shifty runner. I think he would make a good fit as a 3rd down back or a good change of pace runner for UC if they sign him for 2013. He might be to small for an every down back in college, IMO.
Quote:Avon defensive end Elijah Daniel, Warren Central linebacker Tim Kimbrough and Ben Davis safety Antonio Allen already have received scholarship offers from Football Bowl Subdivision schools.
...Kimbrough said he has offers from Indiana, Purdue, Minnesota, North Carolina and Cincinnati. Allen said he has offers from Indiana, Iowa, Purdue, Kentucky and Cincinnati, and has been contacted by many schools, including LSU, Wisconsin, Michigan, Michigan State and Notre Dame.
Allen said he plans to go through the whole process and doesn't expect to make the decision for another year. His goal is to announce his decision at the U.S. Army All-American Bowl game, which has contacted him about playing but hasn't yet offered an invitation.
The Warren Central pipeline, let alone the Indianapolis pipeline, is very strong. Gotta think Kimbrough will have UC in his top 3 throughout the season and Cincinnati will be a favorite to land him.

I hope so, but the competition will be fierce. He's an early 4 star on Scout and could wind up being a top 100 type player. Our Warren Central and Indy recruiting in general should help him to feel right at home here, though.

#Cincinnati is the newest program to show interest in 2013 QB Albert Mitchell of Nashville Christ Presbyterian Academy
Quote:The 6-3 255-pound Shallman is one of the most interesting prospects in the nation for the class of 2013 because despite his massive size, several colleges want him as a running back. Shallman could be the only prospect in the nation that will be recruited for either defensive end or running back. MSU, U-M, Cincinnati and Syracuse have all offered him a scholarship. Shallman has already been to Ann Arbor and East Lansing on several unofficial recruiting visits.
Tim Kimbrough is a guy I really want next year, gotta figure we will be recruiting him hard. If we stay on Lester Liston, We may end up with two pretty good LBs next year.
Quote:Cincinnati gives Orlando Olympia defender Ramar Dennis his first offer

Orlando Olympia defensive end Ramar Dennis was the envy of his best friend and teammate John Armstrong for a little while on Sunday.
Dennis had received a scholarship offer from the University of Cincinnati. His buddy Armstrong had been waiting an offer forever, it seemed. But then he saw an incoming message on his cell phone. It was Cincinnati. The Bearcats want him too.
That was a sigh of relief to Dennis, as well. He knew it would be hard to celebrate if his good friend still had no college scholarship offers. So he could really run around geeking it up about his own offer.
Of course the two players would love to play together in college, but at this time, neither player sees a commitment in the near future.
“It was very unexpected … coach (Bob) Head sent me a text about it,” Dennis said. “I guess they told him and then he just let me know.”
Cincinnati tight ends coach Mark Elder has been his recruiting contact so far but Dennis said they have not gotten very specific on many details.
Given his body frame, the 6-foot-2, 230-pound high school defensive end is likely more in line to play a college linebacker, safety or hybrid of both. None of that matters to Dennis.
“They said they liked me on film and they play a 3-4 defense, but I’m not sure how they’d plan to use me,” Dennis said. “I could play something like the hybrid. We tried to run that a little bit this year. It doesn’t really matter to me though, as long as I am on the field.”
Interestingly, Dennis had an uncle who played at Cincinnati recently in Tallahassee Rickards product George Murray.
“I told him I got the offer and he said, ‘That’s pretty good,’ ” Dennis said.
Dennis tallied 106 total tackles(62 solo) this season, eight sacks and three fumble recoveries as he helped lead the Titans to their first ever state playoff win against Winter Park in the Class 8A first round. Olympia lost in the second round to Timber Creek and finished 7-4.
“I just plan to get bigger, faster, stronger and keep working and hopefully lead my team further into the playoffs,” Dennis said. “This year just prepares us. After losing, you never want to feel that feeling again.”

John Armstrong has a big heart. Trouble is, most people do not know how big, but if college scouts put “size of heart” on a football combine list of measurements, the kid would have far more college scholarship offers.
“People say I’m small,” said the 5-foot-7 (and-a-half, don’t forget the half), 170-pound 2013 slot back at Orlando Olympia High. “But you can’t judge a big heart and I have a big heart. But I can’t do much about the size. I just go out there and play the game I love.”
The initial Rivals 100 for 2013 was released today. No one on this list, I'm sure, that we have a shot at but something to look over nonetheless. No one from the Cincinnati area, but Burrows and McCray from Trotwood both made the list.
The Rivals250 for 2013 just came out today. The list includes 19 players in total from the state of Ohio, but not one from Cincinnati. Pretty amazing. Probably better for us is that Tim Kimbrough (Warren Central), Antonio Allen (Ben Davis) and David Kenney (Pike) from Indianapolis all made the list.
I cant think of anyone in Cincy that deserves to be on that list. None of the Moeller guys do IMO.
I like the Weisman kid out of Colerain and I like Chris Davis a lot out of Colerain but you knew Davis wouldn't be ranked after missing almost all of last season.
I'm surprised so many guys from Ohio made the 250 today though. I thought it would be considerably less than it was. I was thinking about 10-12.
