How 'bout this? Tech has been saying no all along to the addition of Seattle and may have just been out-voted by the 4 western most members (Seattle for Tech is too far away, plays no football and would take money out of their mouth once the Boise cash dries up). Tech is starting to schedule Sun Belt schools. Appy is making noises about FBS (before the window closes).

Anybody starting to put 1 + 1 + 1 together? 03-cloud9

Your addition ..... does makes sense.

East

App State
Florida Atlantic
Florida International
Middle Tennessee
South Alabama
Troy

West

Arkansas State
La Tech

Why would you screw an existing Belt team to put you favorite Appy in the conference ?

If there is an East/West Belt, WKU certainly should be in the East. Maybe you should to put your Jags in the West or it would be much better to invite a teams that is more regional with existing Belt western teams if needed.

Then the the designated rival game from the other division for MTSU would be WKU.

ie SEC scheduling

Alabama - Tennessee
Aubrun - Georgia

That's a pretty tight little triangle there between Western Ken., MTSU and Appy

It's like you've got Knoxville surrounded 01-france.

Think bigger.

If WAC football is going to dissolve, instead of adding 1 or 2 schools that cause weird divisions, add enough schools to allow 2 distinct, regional divisions. Each would be able to keep any NCAA units earned within the division, etc...It would really be an association of 2 different conferences operating under the SBC banner.

Texas State

This would be the optimum alignment:

Yeah I'm adding it up. Tech gets the benefit of lower costs by playing Sun Belt schools in addition to the new to FBS Texas schools without joining the Sun Belt. They still get to spend the money to go every place else in the WAC so it won't be that helpful with the TV money drying up but it staves off economic crisis for Tech athletics a little longer.

Basically UL is enabling Tech to remain outside the league.

We don't see it that way. Playing Tech will bring a crowd to our home stadium, only McNeese State and Southern will bring more attendance. Tech will also play us in Baseball, Softball and Basketball with very little travel cost. This has been a program that refused to play us in football for 10 years and now it s going to happen in Lafayette first.

Enabling, not from the comments of their fans. I'd say reality has finally hit some of the necksters.

Please stop trying to snake UTSA and Texas State into the Sun Belt. Adding them is not thinking bigger, and we don't need them. We don't need any FCS programs. We need to shack the "gateway conference" stigma. We've had it long enough. Let the new WAC have that label. If we do expand, it should only be with current FBS programs that add value to the conference.

03-lmfao Good point. But they should have gotten a 2 for 1 at least. We're not in the business of charity.
