BALL GROUND, Ga. - Middle Tennessee rising sophomore men's golfer Brett Patterson became the first player in school history to qualify for the U.S. Open when he shared medalist honors of Monday's U.S. Open Sectional Qualifier at the Hawks Ridge Golf Club in Ball Ground, Ga., just north of Atlanta. The course was a par 72, 7,186-yard layout.
"It's hard to put it into words," Patterson said. "It just goes to show a lot of hard work I have put in has paid off. It's certainly something I've dreamt about my whole life. For something like this to come true, that's just something I can't describe."

Wow...that is sweet. The best I ever got was I could shoot an 92 on the average public course. Had I practiced my driver more I think I could have gotten it down to the high 80's but that's about it. It takes a lot of talent to reach his level.
