OT - SEC goes to no divisions in bb
SEC will no longer have divisions in bb and are considering an 18 game league schedule. Coach Cal even brought up the possibility of a 22 game league schedule in the future.

22 games? WOW?

They can't go to 22 conference games. The Big East hasn't gone that far. That is revolutionary and everyone knows that only 16 conference gamse/year works fo college basketball!

If this happens, then the Big East going to 12/20 would not be an issue and they could still play 3 home and homes made-for-TV series.

I have been a proponent of going past 18 games in the Big East ever since Syracuse lost H/H with Georgetown and Uconn on an annual basis.

What best match-ups? 03-lmfao

The similarity between SEC basketball and Big East basketball stops at both leagues having one division. Good Lord SEC basketball is plain awful. Our 9th place team beat their best team twice last season on a neutral floor. The NCAA National Champion from The Big East lost 9 games this season, all in conference.

I can't think of an SEC basketball game that would compel me to tune it. If it comes to watching SEC basketball in a half-filled arena from some where near BFE or watching paint dry, I'll stare at the wall.

Most consistent match-up involving an SEC team remains the Kentucky-Louisville game which garners just below a 2.0 rating.

If they played regularly, the second most popular match-up probably would be Tennessee-Memphis.

That's telling.

Neil

Great move by the SEC. The divisions were meaningless for everything but football.

Very good move. Divisions are worthless in college basketball and a distraction. The only advantage is lower travel costs and the SEC doesn't have to worry much about them.

Best match-ups:

Games involving Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Florida, and Kentucky. That's it.

I picked them to win the National Championship last year. I will never select a team coached by Pitino to reach the Final Four ever again.

I've been let down two years in a row...

Such as? Besides Kentucky-Florida, none of their games matter.
