Shy Tidbits from the Sun Belt meetings courtesy of Dr. Joel Erdmann
USA athletic director Joel Erdmann was on our baseball broadcast and had a few things to say.

The women's basketball schedule will remain the same, but it appears the men will go to a 20 game conference schedule in 2012-13.

The conference will be considering neutral site bids for future baseball tournaments.

Personally, I think a neutral site baseball tournament would be pretty bad.

This isn't a great long-term thing... But for as long as we're at 11 members, it's a great way to help out the overall league RPI. Hopefully it's a bootstrap thing that will help some financially challenged teams avoid terrible OOC schedules and devote their resources to bringing in better home games.

I dont.

This year Tournament has been an unmitigated disaster, starting with the host not making it, to the format change eliminating all drama from the last 2 days of play.

I thinkif its a place that wants us, and will support us, neutral site is the right idea. Remember we thought that for basketball too, till Hot Springs stepped up

The SBC baseball tourney got a lot of publicity here in the Monroe area. I couldn't go to anygames but saw plenty of highlights on tv and read several good articles in the paper. Considering ULM didn't make it, the tourney generated a decent amount of interest.
