#94 Louisiana-Monroe (Pre-Snap read)

It’s just the way things are, for better or for worse. The better: Louisiana-Monroe has a fine year in 2010, winning five games, and returns 19 of last season’s starters. Like Arizona State, which does the same, these two factors combine to raise expectations to a healthy level. Or is it unhealthy? The Warhawks haven’t made a bowl trip since joining the F.B.S. in 1994 – haven’t won more than six games in a season – so why should we expect this season to be any different? Raised expectations are a boon to the program, on the other hand, and it’s good, even if it feels strange, to think of Louisiana-Monroe as a program on the rise. Yet it never hurts to keep things in perspective, asking yourself if it’s really a good idea to get behind the idea of a U.L.M. bowl run when we’ve seen this program enter a year with raised expectations in the past only to find itself disappointed with the end result.

Holy Cow!! A blogger/writer who actually does some research!! Nice read and thanks for posting all of these. Can't say that I disagree with him much at all. A good take on ULM and I think fairly well dead on.

If the O line comes together, stays healthy and improves, this could be an 8 win season. They could have a few bounces go the other way, a few injuries and it could be a 3-4 win season. Homerism aside, I think this will be a 7 win season for the Warhawks.

Pre-snap read REALLY does a good job IMHO.

He (or his staff) research really well and know where to get the info.

.500 in out of Conference play....is that too much to ask.

Oh wait, FAU has to go through 'murder's row' [first three games: @ Florida; @ Mich. St. (not a home game); @ Auburn]. 03-banghead

p.s. they've only got 2 OOC game scheduled for 2012, 1 for 2013 and 1 for 2014 (compare to FIU with 3 for 2012, 3 for 2013 and 3 for 2014)

Hey, I'd trade OOC schedules with FAU in a heart beat! i WISH Auburn and Alabama would stop dodging us, they are cowards and should be ashamed.

Either you are better and prove it on the field, or you are scared and you refuse to schedule a team. Bama and the Barn have chosen the latter.

While our OOC is again brutal (and well paying) I am just glad that ULM is not a member of the SEC West again this year. At least we have some new faces on the schedule.

Bama or Auburn would be great for Troy. Bus ride as opposed to the plane and some money saved on hotels....and an in state game to help with recruiting.

RE: #94 Louisiana-Monroe (Pre-Snap read)
yeah they aren't going to play us. all of the bammer and barner fans say the same thing, "if we win no big deal, if you win it hurts us." 03-weeping If they want to claim they are so much better than us then they need to prove it, otherwise, shut up.

sorry, didn't mean to get so off topic. I'm glad yall beat Bama a few years back, kudos again to that. Maybe one day we will be able to do the same.

we owe you guys some payback. I hope Kolton Browning isn't as sharp this time around as he was last season. 03-banghead
