No discussion of Troy's ineligible players/dismissal?
Top two returning receivers and a few others.
Admittedly, Reeves is the only one I really know much about, but I recognized Johnson and Phillips names, the other two I'm not sure I had heard of...

Jemel and Reeves are losses of note. It's a hit, but we'll recover as we have plenty of talent stockpiled.

RE: No discussion of Troy's ineligible players/dismissal?
I think it sets us back some because these are two of the receivers I've bragged about lately. I'm pretty sure that Chip has "burned" a few teams for long TDs, but it looks like he hasn't "burned the midnight oil" for classes. Jamel was a big factor in the offense as a freshman last season. He will be missed (as a potential go-to guy), but I saw some good things out of several other rFr that I believe will even out the receiving corps, but those guys are game-changers. KeJuan was a decent corner that sat the previous season (2009) for grades...He won't be back, but we have plenty of corners going into the summer...we're good there. As for Roberts, I thought he would've been another "named" DE from TROY, but didn't pan out...that's about all I've got.

Not "getting excited", not even trying to stir the pot really, I was actually just surprised to see no one else had mentioned it yet, especially with as many pot stirrers as we have among us...

Does that leave Moncrief as the leading returning WR in terms of catches? ASU was in a simliar situation last year in terms of not having anyone with many catches coming back but it turned out pretty well.

Jamel Johnson is the bigger loss. Chip Reeves is fast, but has had a history of having an attitude problem. He won't be back. Phillps was probably the #3 corner but Pickett and 2 incoming juco guys should pick up his slack without much of a problem. Wilson is a reserve linebacker who will also be back. Roberts couldn't follow a simple team rule and it cost him dearly.

Yes it does. Talent is there in bundles we just have to get them experienced now.
Yep, that's exactly what Troy's coach stated, "we have more who cares".

Kevin Turbeville of the Jonesboro Sun wrote an article about over-signing this week in which he said it is not a topic at Sun Belt meetings because nobody has raised the issue like in the SEC. That article said Troy is the only school in the Sun Belt that really does it very much - and that they have led the NATION with 33 signees per class the last few years.
Coach Freeze said he'll do it some - and over-signed 3 last year - but that because of attrition and recruits not qualifying - that stAte will probably still have a scholarship to offer this fall despite over-signing.
Not really that important except that there are articles about the Sun Belt in the off season in the Jonesboro Sun, which in a way is progress.
Wish i could share the article, but the Sun is now subscription only.
