Good luck to Kennesaw State. They'll should well with their football program because they are in a hotbed of football talent and fans.

It all scales up too.

Even the AQ programs have insecurity issues aginst thier peers.

I read the Michigan State board a lot since FAU has played them over the last few years.

The conversations they have are exactly the same as ours except you swap out Michigan for Troy or along those lines.

Ive come to the concluusion that unless you are the national champion no one is happy about there program anymore it seems.

Ehhh...in a hotbed? Not so much. I live a few miles from KSU, this area is actually one of the weakest in the state for high school football. They aren't far from Atlanta or too far from south Georgia the areas where the majority of talent comes from, but it's going to be tough making inroads in an area that is highly recruited by the entire SEC and of course Georgia and Georgia Tech, not to mention Georgia State(who has the advantage of actually being in Atllanta) and Georgia Southern(who's actually in south Georgia) as long as they're playing FCS ball.

Georgia is still #4 in Division I recruits. There are plenty to go around.

True, but Kennesaw State certainly has a tough road to hoe carving out there place in the instate pecking order.

Agreed. People from outside Georgia are not aware of the hierarchy in the state especially as relates to the BOR. They are also not aware that Kennesaw has an endowment of $25 million.

SoCon would be smart to pick them up, as they are in a good location between Samford, Chattanooga, and Georgia Southern. If Georgia Southern ever went FBS, the SoCon would not have a team in the state of Georgia.

That is a very big if for GS. I still do not think they can clear the financial hurdles necessary to move up.

If Georgia State truly believe they're bigger than the Sun Belt I'd argue their hurdle is just as big.

Its either CUSA or SunbeltM Our budget is in the mid $20 millions so we should be able to swing either. GS' is half that.

the ovc would be better off taking UNA, which is normally one of the top teams in DII.

I wouldn't say that CUSA is completely out of reach for Georgia State, but if the administration has the attitude of CUSA or bust(and in the past you've given me the impression that they do) I would say that bust is the more likely outcome.

I would say a LOT of schools had the attitude of CUSA or bust 12 months ago and most are probably thinking differently now that several dominoes have failed to fall. Remember, at this time last year we all thought Godzilla would be fighting Mothra in the streets and the BCS would be in flames and taking any non-AQ they could find. All of those conferences that did not go to 14 or 16 shut the door in a lot of people's faces. Dominoes falling in reverse. The point is if things continue to not happen you will have 3 or 4 times as many schools looking to move up as you have open slots. It may end up making a school like UTSA that sprinted to FBS look like a genius of a lot of other 35k attendance schools are left in FCS.
