This is a great RPI win for the Conference and UNT. It also shows that many of the top 25 programs really have one good pitcher and the rest of the staff is questionable at best. The Mean Green have a few very good bats in the lineup as well and this will help you come SBC Tournamant time.

UNT softball team does it again

Here's one from the land of "go figure."

The UNT softball team beats UTEP, Louisiana Tech and Mississippi just before the start of Sun Belt play, takes a game from national power Louisiana-Lafayette in the first week of the conference season and then splits with Big 12 power Baylor

One would think UNT is going to steam roll into the rest of the Sun Belt season, right?

Uhh,

Then UNT gets swept by Middle Tennessee and loses two of three to Florida International.

UNT is now right back where it started after pulling off a stunner last night and splitting with 11th-ranked Missouri. UNT won the second half of that doubleheader as well and snapped the Tigers' 24-game winning streak.

UNT had better go something with that momentum this time around. Big nonconference wins are great, but UNT is sitting at 2-7 in league play, one game out of last place.

UNT heads to Western Kentucky this weekend. The Hilltoppers are one of those teams in the Sun Belt with only one win in league play.

All those big wins show just how good UNT can be. It just has to handle its business in a few conference series to dig itself out of an early hole.

You guys are this close to being a contender... Once you stop with the inconsistency you will be right there. Looks like SAl might be on their way...We'll see in a few weeks.
