Especially a team like FAU that has a lot of returning players.

I am happy with the NIT bid dont get me wrong. I agree it will provide invaluable experience for a young FAU team and will get them a taste of postseason play that should prepare them if they go to the dance next year.

Its just that being the #1 seed and having such a great regular season many FAU fans had really been looking forward to getting to the NCAA so there is going to be some resentment and anger for sure.

Thank you Green Menace! It's a well known fact on every SBC scouting report of UNT. But when healthy, UNT does have the best group of athletes and you never know what can happen. Best of Luck.

The reason we get bounced in our first game in the NCAA every year isn't because we play particularly bad defense, it's because of who we play in the first round and our seed in it.

My real question was about your statement re: JJ and injuries. Should have just considered the source and the fact you're just green with envy since ULL has virtually fallen off the basketball radar while JJ has 5 straight 20 plus win seasons.

I don't know why you're baiting Cajun fans. Cajun T is being honest with you because we've seen how this story plays out.

We've had a much longer and more storied basketball history than NT. It's not like we haven't pulled off 5 straight 20 plus win seasons before. And its not like we aren't going to do it again.

Enjoy your success now, because I have a feeling that Marlin's only getting started.

Agreed. Seed/opponent? Look in the mirror. Granted there is a ceiling playing in a league as bad as the Sun Belt, but if you lose any games, especially conference games, you need to look in the mirror in regards to your seed.

Baiting Cajun fans ? Beleive Cajun T made a remark concerning JJ and injuries. Injuries and the word defense don't belong in the same sentence with Johnny Jones.

Guess you folks can say what you want, when you want and no one should question it. I hope Martin can do something for your program. You guys have't won a game in the conference tournament since 2006.

MG61, you are taking this much too personal my brother. Johnny has earned some respect because of his 20 win seasons, but he also has earned the reputation of being a poor defensive coach. The good comes with the bad. I know you had a senior moment, so I will end with simply wishing you guys good luck tonight.04-rock

Interesting... ULM has won back to back 20 game seasons twice since the 1951-52 season and has never won 20+ three times in a row in that time span, much less 5... UNT has hit 20+ wins three seasons in a row once before their current streak of 5 straight...

ESPN College Basketball Encycolpedia: ULM

But hey, don't let facts get in the way of a good rant...

Please tell me you did that on purpose...

either way, brace for a sh!tstorm....

Should have seperated them MG61, injuries are one thing, the lack of defense is another causing NT's losing streak. Yes, defense and Jones do not belong together in a sentence. He learned from the best, the preacher man himself, Dale Brown.

I have no problem with you saying injuries are one thing and that playing defense is another. Thanks for finally clarifying.
