they'll end up playing ulm.

our season ends tomorrow.

Beed if that happens...your AD needs to dump your coach in the locker room!

Man, I could very easily see this happening, but did you notice that there are no eastern SBC teams in the semis in this bracket. I do agree though, I think that the winner of the conference tourney will be from the west this year.

I agree. Not too long ago we were looking really bad, but the last two games this North Texas group has showed some real heart and played some defense. If we show up with enough healthy bodies, then watch out, We could make some noise.

RE: Sun Belt Conference Tournament Predictions
Just for kicks I put each team into a spreadsheet and figured thier odds of winning each round based on matchups, stats, tournament history, and gut feeling.

Here are my predictions:

First round:

WKU 55% ULM 45%
Troy 49% UNT 51%
FIU 45% DU 55%
UALR 55% USA 45%

Odds of a championship in order from smallest to greatest:

12 ULM 0.38%
11 FIU 0.41%
10 Troy 0.44%
9 UNT 0.94%
8 USA 0.95%
7 UALR 1.74%
6 WKU 2.23%
5 DU 2.89%
4 MT 15.22%
3 ULL 20.67%
2 ASU 26.86%
1 FAU 27.28%
Total 100.00%

IMHO FAU has been the best, most consistent team this season and should be the favorites.

A very close second would be Arkansas State for several reasons. First of all, give credit where credit is due. They have a nice team that is as capable of winning this tournament as any. Second, they will have home court advantage, probably bringing more fans than anyone else this year. Third, I think they may have the "easiest" route to the title as any of the bye teams. I understand that this is March basketball and there are no easy routes. But as I said FAU is in the other bracket and they are my favorite. MTSU has a nice team, my hat is off to them. But ULL is "hotter" and I might give a slight edge to them as being the tougher draw. State swept the three games with Little Rock and USA.

MTSU and ULL have shots at it. But I really think the champ is going to be FAU or Arkansas State.

I would put the combined odds of someone besides those four winning the championship at about 1 in 10.

UNT with thier experience could concievably get hot and do it. WKU has the talent to do it if we played a little smarter and got hot from three (not likely at all BTW). Denver was within a hair's breath of getting a one seed about a week and a half ago.

But history shows that it will likely be one of the four bye teams.

The one game that I keep changing my mind on is UNT vs FAU. I think that will be a great game but I just have a feeling the real UNT will show its face.

RE: Sun Belt Conference Tournament Predictions
A few weeks ago I picked UALR to win the Sun Belt tournament, but North Texas is playing great right now. Beating WKY by 21, and beating FAU and Troy by 14 is very impressive. I have to pick North Texas over UALR or MTSU.

Yes, I'm a homer, but that doesn't make this pick invalid.
