Well, if we landed 2 of the 3 that would still be quite a coup because it sounds like the QB might not end up in a university this year anyway.

Olack, Wynn, and Sturdivant sound good to me.

that's a freakn shame... the kid is stud and would definitely contribute to the football team...

I heard Sturdivant wanted to be a Buckeye has a visit set, but doesn't have an offer. Jones was not offered and neither was Wynn by TOSU. TOSU was waiting on a couple of recruits to commit and if they didn't Andre could possible get an offer. If he wanted to go to PSU he could have in the Fall. He was offered by MSU, he wants Buckeye leafs on his helmet and is willing to wait and maybe Ut is his backup plan which is great with me I would take a 4 year starter at the MAC level 3 weeks from now(hint).

Actually, according to Scout and Rivals, Wynn does have an offer from tOSU while Rivals claims Sturdivant also has an offer from tOSU. I believe all three are scheduled to visit tOSU on Saturday, 1/28.

Let's not ahead of ourselves rocketnation. If OSU wants them, and offers, that's where they are going.

RE: Glenville trio football recruiting visit (1/22/11)
The offers on these sites are what the kids have told a source, schools don't confirm offers for internet or media that is a recruiting violation. If either had an offer they would have pledged a long time ago. Sturdivant has said since last year his favorite school was OSU. OSU doesn't recruit small WR like Wynn at OSU he would only play special teams much like Ray Small who was a much higher rated recruit than Wynn. With Jones OSu told Braxton Miller he was their only QB recruit this year once he commited. I can see OSU offering him a grey shirt if his grades are in order. I think Wynn comes to Toledo, and I hope Studivant does also, if Beckman had a chioce between Wynn or Olack for a final spot who do you think it would be?

Mike has reportedly said he loved his visit to UT. He got along with the coaches well, which is an important factor for him. Phil Manley was his player host during the visit and they had a great time. McQueen is visiting Indiana next weekend and may take a day visit to either Bowling Green or Ohio U this week before the IU visit. After the Indiana visit he will make his decision, with Toledo and Indiana right now at the top of his list.

McQueen is taking an official visit to Ohio University today, and still planning an official to Indiana this weekend. Looks like it will come down to Toledo, Ohio, and Indiana.

RE: Glenville trio football recruiting visit (1/22/11)
Sturdivant's official visit to Ohio State was cancelled by Tressel, so he's out of the picture at Ohio State. Wynn does not have an official visit or offer from Ohio State. Jones has a visit setup, but one person close to Ohio State that I know says he kind of doubts that Jones comes in for it. The rumor is that OSU is offering him a gray shirt, which means he technically would be part of next year's class not this year's....and satisfies anything they told Braxton Miller.

Sturdivant liked Penn State, but something happened during his visit that changed someone's mind and Penn State doesn't seem to be in it for him unless something drastically changes in the last few days. Justin Olack still has not made a decision between UT and Pitt.

Usually, but not always. Perfect example is QB Austin Boucher a couple of years ago. He got an offer from Ohio State in the final week, but still signed with Miami University instead.

Another example would be Tom Ward our great LB from years ago...
Cooper had an official visit set with the intent on offering him... But once Gary Pinkel got him on campus at UT, to$u was out of the picture... 04-rock

Akise Teague from Ursuline was someone OSU looked at after the season much like Boucher last year and Akise commited to UC. I think for the most part these kids realize that if they weren't a choice earlier maybe slamming the door on teams yhat have been in on them for a couple years isn't a good idea. Look at the QB last year who decommited from UT to ND. Alot of times these late jumps don't work out, sometimes they do. Wynn and Sturdivant are huge pickups if UT gets them. Both are BCS caliber players, that could be starters at those schools as juniors. At Ut the would be impact players like Church was.

IMO, Sturdivant is tweener, that's one of his problems. 6'2" 249, not a huge DE for the top Big 10 schools, but not enough speed/quickness at
ILB. Another 20-30 lbs, he'd probably make a very good DT. If you think that's too small look at Nix for Kent State.

Boca is correct. Sturdivant is a tweener. He has played DE, DT, ILB, & OLB all in the same game for Glenville. He is about 5.2 for the 40 which is borderline or slow for MLB and way to slow for OLB but OK for DT.

He would probably start at ILB or Mike for any school and move to DT his final two years. He is destined to weigh 300 pounds.

Miami of Fl. made their living recruiting players for one position with the required speed and then adding pounds for the upgrade to the next position closer to the line of scrimmage. Sturdivant would be a very quick DT. He would be very effective in that roll. A real monster.

Go Rockets!

That has to be disappointing for Sturdivant and Wynn. I hope all three of these kids soon recognize that their best opportunities for playing and winning is with UT.

We are no longer recruiting Tim Gorski. I believe Mike McQueen is the only offensive lineman that has not already committed to UT that still has a standing offer.
