Got it on vinyl for about $12 with a free digital download. I'm really liking it. This band has never had an album receive many good reviews, but I've really enjoyed all 3.

yeah i enjoyed it too. it didn't reinvent the wheel, but it's a fun listen. I don't know why it got hated on so much

Its mostly his vocals that I like. Wailing, but with good tone. Not whiney. And I've always liked how the reverb placed on the other instruments still leaves a pocket for his voice. There's also a lot of breath sounds left in along with some sharp S's. Makes it sound less produced, and more like a live performance.

i do indeed like it. mixes in some doo wop this time. i feel a florence in the machine blow up possible, though she's less bombastic and more sensual, but just as sultry and 100% more scandinavian! check out her previous offering "youth novels" which is full of pop gems. "youth novels" f*cking rocks.

i loved the first one, but that second album suffered the slump imo. am eager for the new offering

I agree. Gotta check this new one out. I haven't liked the early release songs though.

you better get a move on. It's only going to get crazier from here. The Strokes, The Vaccines, The Pains of Being Pure at Heart, The Joy Formidable, Paul Simon, Tune-Yards, Arctic Monkeys, Okkervil River and more that I can't think of right now

RE: 2011 Albums
Just finished listening. Really good album (as if there were any doubts). Is it better than Dear Science? Probably not, but i've only listened to it once and we all know that you have to listen to Tunde and gang at least 3 or 4 times before you can form an opinion. However, I can tell you that it's rockier than past albums and has some great guitar work overall. There are also a ton of tempo changes that keep you listening, not to mention many of the songs build to great crescendos. I just started my 2nd listen. Let's see if I hear anything new

RE: 2011 Albums
I didnt notice how funky the first song was until i listened a 2nd time. its got funky horns and a deep bassline, with tunde adding some swing to his voice. then it slows down and lets you catch your breath before jumping back into it

RE: 2011 Albums
parts of the 2nd song have a lot in common with miles benjamin anthony robinson's music. Not sure if I like the 3rd song. Gonna have to listen a few more times (damn i've said that a lot. i guess that comes with their music).
