Quote:T.Y. Hilton has decided to play his senior season at FIU and bypass the NFL Draft as a junior. Goodbye will be back to help the Panthers defend the Sun Belt Conference Championship and take FIU to its second consecutive bowl game.

Will have more on this soon and look for a story on Goodbye and his family by yours truly on FIUSports.com later.

That is excellent news! I believe he will be the driving force that sends FIU back to the postseason in 2011.

Was he really considering coming out? I can't imagine he'd be higher than a 3rd round pick this year.

Someone on our board quoted some similar Dolphin salaries for 3rd-4th round WR's being $500-600k signing bonus (pro-rated over 5 years) and $600-750k/year salary for 5 years [probably assumes you make team and stick].

Not sure about what you're making, but that looks pretty good to me.

Definitely looks good to me as well, but conventional wisdom is only come out if you know you're going to be a first round pick, or your stock can't go up, neither of which are true in Hilton's case.

Barring injury, I would say Hilton's stock can only go up, especially with guys like A.J. Green and Julio Jones coming out this year. I do know that Justin Blackmon is opting to go back to school and will probably be the top WR in the 2012 draft, but I think Hilton's stock will definitely be higher next year. There are plenty of other stud receivers in the 2011 class beyond Green and Jones. Let's not forget Jernigan and then there is the Young kid out of Boise the Little kid out of UNC. Hilton might not be a top ten WR this year, but I bet he will be next year.

Yep, I generally agree with everything you said there, plus one poor combine and your looking at a low pick. Better to solidify your position with another big year, he's earned a victory lap.

Heavy is the head that wears the (co-)crown. It will be hard for them to compete because they'll be plenty of teams that will have something to say about that.05-mafia

Hilton coming back for his senior season also means he could (and most likely will) be selected for the Senior Bowl and will have ample opportunity to improve his stock at the Senior Bowl practices and game.
