They aint' no joke.

And to think many of our fans were happy we pulled them as one of our mirror games. Think I am more excited to get Georgetown twice.

Their performance is going to make it tough on the 3-4 teams competing for a chance at a bid in the BE.

Hopefully, the Mountaineers have all their no show games in the books already. Georgetown plays WVU next... 05-mafia

The Mountaineers play @ DePaul tomorrow, before heading to D.C....

I'm ecstatic to have them as a mirror game because that gives us two shots at a quality win.

Even before Syracuse, St John's was the original team i and most Georgetown fans "hated" most in the Big East, what with those great Louie Carneseca teams of the early to mid 80s. Thus, it always sucks to lose to STJ, especially in the showcase of MSQG.

Fortunately, i'm still focused too much on football to let it get to me. Well at least not that much.

Who'd a thunk that either WVU or GT would have 3 Ls in the BE before the end of the 1st weekend of the year?

RE: St. Johns
Lavin was a good hire...I would have taken the man.

sure he has a shady past but he's a great recruiter, can coach, and is a proven winner....

he was the PERFECT hire for St. Johns who, after so many years of owning NY city recruits had fallen on hard times....for some reason Jarvis didn't think he needed the pipeline in NYC? Lavine will re establish this and do it quickly. This isn't a fluke...St. Johns is on the rise

Its going to be great to watch those Upstate vs NYC games again.
I dont think SU has lost to any of the 18 or 19 other ncaa basketball teams in NYS in maybe 6 or 7 years. I think St Johns was the last team that SU lost to that calls NY home.

I figured WVU would take some time to get their act together, since this team has replaced so many parts from last year's team. But I didn't plan on St. John's...

Yeah I can't remember the last NYS team to beat Cuse was (besides SJU)...Fordham???

Is there a historical Cuse BB website that lists all games they have played and scores?

Using Sports-Reference.com's CBK site, I found a loss to Fordham on 12/12/1981 and its listed as a neutral game (MSG??). All others were St. John's losses.

The prior season they lost to St. Bonaventure in a true road game in Olean on 1/26/1981.

The site has games going back to the '79-'80 season for schools.
