Cool Down to 8 unbeaten basketball teams
St John's cruises tonight in the garden over previously unbeaten Northwestern. Cincinnati also pulled away to get a road win at Miami OH.

That leaves UConn, Syracuse, and Cincinnati among the final 8 unbeaten teams.

That win also makes the Big East 24-12 against BCS teams.

While it is still early, the league has done well enough OOC that it may be looking at 11 teams realistically challenging for NCAA bids with the final number dependent upon how many of them finish .500 or above in conference.

Cheers,
Neil

I think UC has a real good shot at being 14-0 when Xavier visits, and then hopefully 15-0.

Now Cincy get your bandwagon running...we have missed you being relevant in basketball for 6 years or so. I miss seeing crowds over 12k at the 3rd5th Arena or whatever u call that place. LOL

I prefer the 1 and 2/3rds Arena, or 1.67 Arena, personally.

The XU game has sold out, WVU will be sold out. I expect to see 10K plus come mid-January.

UC will smash Xavier. They will be 15-0 when they go to Villanova.

Bite your tongue. We've seen the MuskiQueers come in here way too many times with lesser teams only to have some guy who hasn't hit a shot all season make 5 threes and they sneak out a win on us. If there was no rivalry we'd drill them but there is and you never know what may happen.

No current rep and a very easy OOC schedule

It's been so long that I'm having a hard time handling this. lol! Hopefully we take care of business in our next 3 games. Two Big East conference wins and a win over Xavier would definitely bolt us into the Top 25.

That's true, the advantage though is that we're the hunter and they're the hunted. All the pressure is on Xavier because they're the NCAA Tournament team and the veteran squad.

No idea of the outcome, but the styles are pretty close. There might be 60 fouls and 40 turnovers in the game when we play UL this year. Expect a lot of whistles.

If Rutgers can somehow upset UNC next week at 10-2 and we continue to get a little better each game we might actually be in the NIT or a bubble team come March.

RE: Down to 8 unbeaten basketball teams
I don't see UC "smashing" Xavier....it's usually always a very close game regardless who is ranked not ranked, respective records, etc.

I mean, they fricken beat us when we were #1 in the nation TWICE under Huggs for pete sake.....I can STILL see Charles Williams dribbling the ball off his foot in the closing seconds at the Shoe...UGH

I think Logan's team smashed them one year but that's about all I can recall....may Nick Van Exel and co beat them badly one year? Can't remember. I'm sure it will be close....hope I'm wrong. We are OVER DUE to kick their butts.

but gotta take care of DePaul and SH first.....go Cats!
