Should have been a pardon...scratch that, shouldn't have happened at all.

But, this is a HUGE step in the right direction.

What is the back story on this? I like these stories on zero policy laws that seem like a good idea at the time, but when the law is used to convict the "wrong person", then the law needs to be changed.

He couldn't have a gun in his car in NJ. But, he was moving to a new house, so where else is he going to put it?

He should have taken a plane, TSA never would have found it.

You're getting older, and more conservative. 05-stirthepot

Welcome aboard.

Was it secured or just lying out in the open? I am sure New Jersey has some approved method transporting a gun in a car.

It was secured, and the Fed has imposed rules on all states who don't want to allow guns. He was following the rules, but the judge decided not to inform the jury of that.

The story isn't that much more complicated, Google or wikipedia will provide more details.

Thanks for the info Torch. My questions have been answered and I agree, if Aitken was following the law, then to sentence him was a giant pile of bs.

2nd amendment seems like enough "following the law" for me.
