The only reason to ever think about USM to the Big East

They were saying 15-20k made the trip but if attendance was just over 20 I'm assuming we were in the 18k range. It was more like 5-1 or better ratio Louisville to usm fans. Not bad for a 6-6 tuesday night beef o'brady bowl against a cusa also-ran.

It really puts in perspective how much UConn fans suck. Probably a women's basketball game the night of the fiesta bowl.

You really like to talk out of your butt don't you? Last night's game was like half empty. 18K? Man you need to get your eyes checked. There were quite a bit of yellow on the TV screen in a mostly empty stadium so you are way overestimating it as usual.

Did UL fan spent over $2000 each getting to the game? Driving there on bunch of 1980s beat up pickup trucks don't count dude.

Let's try to compare apples to apples shall we?

1. Going from Kentucky to Fla is not exactly the same as from CT to Glendale.
2. UL got alum base in Fla while UCONN got none in AZ
3. How long you guys been playing football? We have been playing less than 10 years and we are sending plenty of fans to previous bowls. We don't know anything about the final count at Fiesta. An unscientific poll on UCONN board took by fans looks to me like 50% of fans brought from UCONN and other 50% brought on the open market. This was a poll among message posters so they are mostly diehards. I suspect majority of general public brought through Stubhub etc. Who can blame them? One guy said he brought 10 tickets and he saved $1800 vs. buying them from UCONN.

As for number of UCONN fans at the Fiesta Bowl, I would get some feedback from fans before before you jump to conclusion.

You need to stop talking out of your ass. I was there. Actually I am still here, in the airport. There were a LOT more fans than you could see on TV. For one, you could not see the Bid Light zone, which had about 2k-3k people. You also could not see the terrace overlook, nor how many people were actually int eh endzone. You saw a lot of empty seats because they sold half the field to UofL, and half to USM. Their half was empty. Ours was packed.

Also, there is little difference between Florida to KY versus CT to Glendale. Both generally require going to an airport, and both cost about the same amount of money in most cases. I can tell you when Louisville went to the Orange Bowl, we had 40,000 or more fans there,Mand it costs a lot more to fly into Miami than it does to fly into Phoenix, and miami is way too far to drive.

So out of announced crowd of 20K, 15K to 20K are UL fans? I suppose all the yellow jerseys we saw on TV are all UL fans too? USM brought no one? Yeah ok. If you say so.

BTW, how do you know how many UCONN fans will be at AZ? By the number of tickets sold? I already explained a hundred times that tickets via Stubhub is like 80% less than through the school. I guess it won't stick with some people cause they just refuse to get it no matter how you present it. As for flight between UL to Miami to CT to AZ, the cost is more close to being double than the same cost. Again, do your own research before you make up stuff.

Trying to prop up your own school is one thing, but bashing another without any clue of the circumstance surrounding the ticket situation is quite another.

Are you and your buddy above gonna go after WVU fans next? Last I heard WVU is returning like 7K of Champs bowl tickets.

No. Here is an article from your hometown explaining the situation. I got to think economy got something to do with it. WVU has sold a little over 1/3 of 12,500 tickets allocated to the school BTW. The article is from 12/20/10.[/quote]

I'd change that to, "congratulations Louisville! A win for the Big East."

There's not much "big" about beating a non-AQ team ranked around #65 in the BCS computers.

Any bowl win is big for the Big East, if for no other reason than it avoids an embarrassing loss to a non-AQ team ranked around #65 in the BCS computers.

Point taken. 04-cheers

I was at the bowl game as well. My guess was that we probably had between 16-17K, and USM between 2-3K. I did see a few USF fans, one Pitt fan, and a few individuals wearing neutral clothing (locals I am assuming). However, there were only a few hundred of those at the game at most. I think not having a 'local' school in the game hurt interest.

Good on UL but sadly that kinda sucks that St Pete + Tampa isn't supporting this bowl game. Not sure this bowl can last.

This bowl needs to be moved to Tampa period. Sadly St Pete doesnt have enough sports fan support to save this bowl. Heck they cant support the Rays. Not many from tampa will cross bridge to travel to see game

Attempting to defend your terrible fan support comes across as pathetic. "Did it cost you $2,000..blah, blah, we're only ten years old!" Come on man!

I assure you had Louisville or WVU been in that game there would be at LEAST 30,000 from the Big East rep in AZ. Just take your lumps and admit it sucks.

What is really pathetic is you don't know fact from your butt. Stop talking out of your other hole like some other Cards fan here.

30K? Are you this backward? In case you don't realize, WVU actually went to Fiesta last time. 30K? Yeah right. Just like 18K of 20K last night are all UL fans? Do you guys enjoy making up stuff as you go along to toot your own horns? BTW, we been to other bowls and we brought plenty of fans. Might not be awesome, but we brought enough.

Did you bother to read all the other info on bowl travel this year? Of course not. Your UL education is pretty lacking. Get some fact and come back to discuss. Otherwise, just STFU like every other UL idiot.
