I was going by final regular season AP & Coaches poll going into the tounament and the NCAA Commitee. Going 19-2 in the BIG EAST in BBall is no small feat. My bad lol.

Look, you should enjoy your 1st BCS Bowl game. But remember you our the rep of the league now. It not enough just to get there, you have to win it. If you lose I'm tell'n you will have a empty feelin.

I agree. Edsall got a month to prepare for the game. I hope he comes up with a game plan for whoever we will face. Our defense gonna have to play huge in whatever game. It will be ugly like all of our games. Hopefully we will get lucky again.

You are the BIG EAST Rep so hopefully you can take care of business in Arizona. But remember you are not the only BIG EAST team playing in a BCS Bowl game. TCU also has to win and really right now they have more cred in college football then any other member of the league. Yes I count TCU as a member for the sinple reason we get to use their number 3 BCS ranking and their numbers next year.

We will try our hardest that you can be sure. UCONN win as a team. We win because we do the small things no one care about. We win because we have one of the best OL and RB in the country. We win because we actually got a defense. We don't play those gimmick offense that throws 500 times a game. We win because our D keep us in the game. We give up yards but we don't give up many points. The D will give us a chance.

I hope Sooner fans gonna be real cocky like South Carolina fans last year. I am sure they gonna tell us how their 5 star recruits gonna blow our 2 star recruits off the field. We just have to see. We will be the biggest underdog. Then again, we are the underdog every single game cause no one believe we should win any game.

Let's hope we get lucky one more time.

Yeah I hope TCU smoke Wisky too. Although I think it will be a very tough game for them.

we won plain and simple..............uconn do it bcs.

RE: USF - UConn Game Thread
Congratulations to UConn, I hope they represent the Big East well. If they have a respectable outing in the Fiesta Bowl, no one will complain. People are upset because:
1. Your team performed so poorly for 1/3 of its games. At least Temple is not as bad as James Madison, right?
2. The way in which you won some of these critical games is hard to believe. WVU had to fumble on the 1 yard line for you to beat them. Your kicker, which was 2/6 on attempts of 40 yards or greater, proceeded to hit a 50 and then a 52 yarder. This is extraordinary, but conference champs usually have a few extraordinary moments go their way on the path to the conference title (Cincy coming back at Pitt down 21-0 comes to mind).

Again, congratulations, and please...win the thing!

I want to say act the f*ck like you have been there before, but you haven't. And that in itself is why everyone in the league was rooting for USF. Guess I will just console myself knowing that my team of rebuilding leftovers made this year's Big East Champions look like a high school squad. Held them to 195 yds total offense. Now run along and embarrass the conference by getting your a$$es handed to you by whoever you play. Before you go. Before you waste your meal money or hit Mom and Dad up for a loan to travel to see your bowl game at whatever site is unfortunate enough to be stuck with you, perhaps you should take a moment. Take a moment and consider that whatever team you face will be a he!! of a lot better than Louisville, Rutgers.....or Temple? (can't believe The Big East Champion lost to Temple.)

Suck it dude and deal with it. You are truly a class act 03-lmfao

You and number of your UL haters (Maize not included) threw all kinds of garbage our way and you expect some of us don't react and just take your garbage? You don't know s**t about football. End of the story.

You and your hater UL buddies can kiss you know what. I will tell you we have brought BE far more honor in many sports than just football. We earned our place in the BCS bowl and there is nothing a hater like yourself can do about it. Win or lose in the BCS does not matter.

Shouldn't you be posting on Root for USF thread now? Too bad both teams played on the field.

Fluke. Louisville is awful and it is a minor miracle they made a bowl game considering the lack of talent there. It's going to get worse before it gets better, I'm afraid.

UConn was starting its 3rd string QB for that game. UConn would win a rematch fairly easily.

We dropped a sure pick six that would have sealed it for USF...one that gets picked 9 times out of 10. So then your FG kicker makes an 80 yd fg or whatever it was. No one will ever convice me UConn is better, because they were not. One ball bounced their way and our DB fumbles and bumbles away a sure TD. So congrats, go win your bowl game. If it sound like sour grapes sorry. I'll get over it, but I do not believe [/align]that UConn is actually better.

I don't think so either. Both teams were evenly matched...and both teams were shackled by poor QB play.

USF outgaining UConn, keep in mind, also had to do with UConn's great field position. We didn't have to drive far for our field goals. Neither offense established a running game.

Kendall Reyes vs. Sampson Genus was a key battle in the trenches-a battle Reyes won almost all game long. Both will play in the NFL. Actually, a lot of UConn players on this team will play on Sunday's-just not the skill position players or the QB.

If we had a mediocre QB, we would have won 11 games this year.

Since you were trying to score TDs, and so were we, it's fair to say we stopped you where we stopped you, and that differences in field position didn't influence yardage gained.

In the end, USF out-rushed and out-passed Uconn, but Uconn made the biggest play of the game, the pick-six, and that was the difference.

We won the statistical battle but you won the scoring battle, and of course we all know which one counts more. Congratulations.

UConn won the game and thats all that counts. With that said Im very proud of our team and how they have fought throughout the year. We have some major problems offensevely but yet our team was in every game. I think our future under Coach Holtz is very promising.

UCONN D always give up yards but we don't always give up big scores. It is how they are coached. UCONN tackle well and is always one of the better coached teams out there. Turnovers are huge in this game as well as any other. The final score is all that matters.

I will give USF D some props. Those boys came to play. UCONN also did not have its starting right OL Mike Ryan which took something off our running game. We usually run left to where Mike is at but last night they had to go right which is not the normal. Either way, offense did just enough to win which is usually the case for UCONN. Special team play is what earned the win last night.
