"If you've got 2 point guards, you have none"
I just heard this quote on ESPN. Kind of sums up our problem. Our PG is definetely a weak spot in our roster. Douglas is not a leader and appears to be an offensive liability. Ward is out of position at the 1. Wolf can be the 1, and used to be a 1, but Hawkins thinks Wolf is a better 2.
It seems this team has lacked a quality 1 since Snider. Everyone else pointed out their opinions of why this team has struggled, and this is my opinion. Perhaps if Brown is healthy, we can try a different 1, b/c right now it seems our best hope at 1 is playing the 2.

I believe Ward started at the 1 last night and Douglas at the 2. Mikey is not a SG.

IMHO Ward has the best 'combination' of skills at PG on the team. Right now this team needs David Brown back really bad.

RE: "If you've got 2 point guards, you have none"
I think Ward or Wolf is a better option at 1. As I said in a much earlier post, I was hoping to see a lot of Ward and Wolf, and less of Douglas. I respect Hawkins but get sick of what seems like unwarranted loyalty. Once a starter, always a starter...I wish he would abandon some of his loyalty toward Douglas, and be a little more loyal towards Wolf. Who knows, I am just some schmuck sitting in the stands.

I think MD is a better option at the 1 than Wolf. I like Wolf at the two for now. Ultimately I'd like to see
Ward PG
Brown SG
Hutch WF
Whit PF
Stain C

I am afraid to agree with you...but I like that lineup too. I will likely be called part of the Chipdip cronies.
Would you bring Wolf in to spell Brown, and Douglas in to spell Ward? With Douglas only getting 14 minutes or so, with Ward the primary 1?
With that we would have a 1 point guard and 1 backup...

Wolf goes both ways, I think he's French. JK.
Seriously, off the bench for a spell he can be a big asset, it's when he's in for a while at 1 and the defenders realize they can invade his space and he's without the handles or speed to shake them, things get wonky. He is a huge asset based on his shot alone at 2, I like him there, he runs the offense and executes when we need it, which is what you want off of your bench.

I agree that this would be the best line-up. It seems everyone agrees with Dip. Three cheers for Dip........hip, hip, ho-ray!
Disqualifier: I am no gobaseline when it comes to basketball. So, Dip may still be a schmuck.

I couldn't agree with you guys more. Good teams are led by a guard that has a triple threat, they can not only handle the ball, but also penetrate and dish for open shots or knock down the outside shot and Mikey is not that. He can penetrate on occasion. I don't mind seeing Mikey in a backup role to give guys some rest, but Hawk needs to find a combination between Ward and Wolf to run the point. I agree Wolf is more of a perimeter shooter but he did fine running the point last year and it gives you a guy on the floor that can knock down a shot, then when Ward comes in its a good change of pace because he likes to penetrate a little more.

Maybe I should have ended my post with, "lol".
