Would you vote for "Rich Whitey"?
Sure it was an accident.....

An error on some electronic voting machines already in use in Illinois identifies Rich Whitney, the Green Party candidate for governor, as Rich Whitey.

Mr. Whitney said he feared that the typo could confuse some voters or make some reconsider voting for him at all.

“Unfortunately, this particular error saddles me with a racially derogatory word,” Mr. Whitney said in an interview.

The Chicago Board of Elections apologized for the gaffe on Thursday, a day after the problem was caught. It agreed to reprogram the voting machines, but said that the error had already been visible on some machines since early voting began on Monday.

The misspelling does not appear on the initial screen where all the candidates are listed, election officials said, but can be seen when voters review their choices before casting the ballot. Officials promised to correct the misspelling everywhere it appears by the weekend of October 23.

Mr. Whitney has polled in the single digits in the race, a hard-fought battle between Gov. Pat Quinn, a Democrat, and Bill Brady, a Republican state senator.

Many were amused by the news, but Mr. Whitney, understandably, was not. “Either this is gross negligence or it is intentional,” he said.

There is a candidate for State Treasurer in Alabama named Young Boozer. I have no doubt he has earned some votes just because of his name.

And the write in vote counted:

Every great journalist has that one story, that pice de resistance that makes his or her career. Rachel Carson had Silent Spring. Sy Hersh had the Mai Lai massacre. Woodward and Bernstein had Watergate.

And our very own Richard Connelly has DraculaCunt.

Back when Connelly was writing "Turkeys of the Year," he learned one patriot in the Fightin' 22nd had voted for Shelley Sekula-Gibbs by writing in "Shelly DraculaCunt Gibs." This little tidbit of information bounced around the Internet and, as these comments on a recent Wonkette post attest, became the preferred name for the distinguished congresswoman from Sugar Land.

I don't know what race this guy is but I don't think whitey is a racially derogatory word and I'm all white meat - why claim a problem exists when it doesn't? Besides, political correctness doesn't work for whites unless they're gay or some **** like that.

Another thing is this guy just insulted the people whose votes he wants by implying that they're racists. I wonder if the voters will pick that up?
