BTW GTS, Glock isn't the only one with that type of safety. I noticed at a gun show this past weekend that S&W has gone to them for some of their autos as well. "Maybe" a few Sigs. I just prefer a hammer drop.

I'm open to suggestions, but I do prefer a slide style automatic.

I *really* love the weight and balance to a glock though... it just feels right in my hands. You know of something else out there with a similar weight and balance?

You must have small hands, GTS. My butcher hands dictate a Beretta M96 compact stainless. It's within arms reach of me most of the time. I've always wondered why people want the Glock because of the safety system. A lot of people swear by them. You can't talk about autos until you talk Beretta. Bought my first one in 1973. I also have a Belgium Browning, Gave it to my son.

Thomas Jefferson Wrote:"No man shall ever be debarred the use of arms."

"The strongest reason for the people to retain the right to keep and bear arms is, as a last resort, to protect themselves against tyranny in government."

"Laws that forbid the carrying of arms... disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes... Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man. "

"And what country can preserve its liberties, if its rulers are not warned from time to time, that this people preserve the spirit of resistance? Let them take arms. ... The tree of liberty must be refreshed from time to time with the blood of patriots and tyrants."

Hammer drops are slide style. The 345 is a slide style. One good thing about the Glock is I can dissemble in less than 2 seconds. All simultaneously, Pull the bolt back a tad, pull the little tabs on the bold down, slide the bolt forward and off.
