ObamaCare will be repealed, revised, or (hopefully) replaced
If what I am reading is true. Big corporations are allowed to opt out. This will not stand. When the Republicans take the House and maybe Senate I hope they understand they have the responsibility to lead. We can't afford the system we are in. The trajectory of medical expenses can not be sustained. For the unfortunate who find themselves in situations where they need medical help. The burden should not be on them to fund those that can not pay their bills. That's the system we have now. I hope we can find a system where there are no caps and children can not be denied care because of a pre existing condition.

The undeniable fact is the Democrats were irresponsible in the way Obamacare was forced on the people. Insurance industry got exactly what it wanted. Lawyers got exactly what they wanted. Unions got a pass. And now big business are getting waivers. This is irresponsible, the people know it and will (hopefully) hold those responsible for it, accountable.

I'm holding out hope for an expansion of the HSA's. My whole family is covered and no one can be kicked out. It costs me 2400 a year. If I spend that I have 100 percent coverage. There's some expense to me but it also changes the conversation between my doctor and my pharmacy. I truly think this is a way out.

HSA's for the masses. Let's some market forces enter the equation to a point. Then you have coverage.

It's always been commonly accepted that there would be large changes as time went on. That's a given with anything on this big a scale.

HSAs will never fly with the Democrats. They will say that the evil rich can put all they want into one whereas the poor and middle class cannot. So they will restrict the rich and subsidize the rest and we will be right back where we are now.

The GOP has a great opportunity here to fix what the Democrats broke. I just pray they don't drop the ball with health care like they did during the Bush years.

You could subsidize the health care costs (4800) to a point I guess. I still think you need skin in the game. But the kicker is if you don't spend that 4800 it is yours. So people don't want to go to the doctor unless they really need it. I plan on spending my 4800 every year. The main point is. It changes the conversation. Brings market forces into the equation. That's a good thing. Catastrophes are covered still.

Why not just make all medical expenses totally deductible? That would be a lot better than HSA's.

Still not bad. My wife takes $500 out of her paycheck every month to add me to her insurance. It'll be $700 a month for the family plan when our baby is born in February.

Stanley,

The lulz is, after all, the ancient spirit that once made the young become Marxists, ...

Is that what you meant ?................ If so, that is a lol.
