I also have 30 acres that's out of the way but still close (~30m) to a large metro area so I'm out of the way but not punishing myself in terms of reasonable employment. This is a SUPERB time to buy land which protects your wealth very well without exposing yourself to any short term commodity bubbles. So long as people keep breeding and the population goes up ... long term your land value will go up.

So in summary:
1) Get armed.
2) Get proficient at being armed.
3) Become a ham
4) Get out of major metro areas
5) Buy land.

I'd also add learn how to grow your own (food). IF the dollar were to collapse, store shelves would empty very quickly and angry, hungry people will be roaming the streets. If you've stockpiled non-perishable foods and grow and preserve your own fruits/veggies, you'd be one up on most people. They will want what you have.

Anyone in the North Georgia area that wants to go Target Shooting PM me. There is usually a AR-15, SKS, AK-47, M-14, M-1, G3, Uzi, and MP-5 and a bunch of pistols and hunting rifles to practice with.

Just bring your own ammo and ear and eye protection. Hunting Season is coming up.

Have you ever seen the Twilight Zone - The Shelter? When it comes to survival, men are animals. If civilization collapses, roaming murderous gangs will rule.
