Pedophiles and sex offenders have some of the highest recidivism rates of any criminal. They shouldn't be catered to and pampered. They should be in general population with the rest of the murderers and violent criminals.

They already did that, This is their after payment, payment plan. The issue I have is simple, u do ur sentence you are done unless you commit another crime, now they have a high recidivism, so do drunk drivers, which the one who killed 2 of my family members had 14 dUIs prior to their death. And I imagine Murderers have more victims that we don't know about, of course they aren't talking.

I actually agree with this for the most part. While sex crimes today seem to be the crime du jour, the bottom line is we want to keep pervs in jail longer than their sentences. I feel if we do that we should also do it to gang banging murderers and such. If you want sex offenders in jail for longer periods of time then we should lobby our politicians to write laws with longer sentences and not keep someone in jail beyond the time they're supposed to serve. BTW, in California, if you take a leak in public and get busted you have to register as a sex offender for the rest of your life. I don't think that was the intent of the law. and I also agree with Louisiana's death penatly law for rapists.......I think the death penatly should be the penalty for lots of crimes, not just 1st degree murder, but that's a story for another day.

So Steve, Mental Ill people are locked up in mental institutions when they are a danger to themselves or society. Here they are confined to a Hospital, albeit, a lavish over the top crazy expensive one, but a mental institution for sexual predators. I find it exceptionally Californian to use the Sex Offender Registry as punishment for peeing in public. Especially when it may be an infringement of a persons right to free speech. Or (free pee)

He goes into prison and then serves his 15 years. At that point, just sentence or not, he has served his punishment and by all rights should be let go - He did his time. However, as we all know, true pedophiles are sick mo'fos and will likely never be "cured" and if let go, will go molest another child. It appears that in Cali, they recognize this and have built something of a Taj Mahal type facility to keep these people AFTER they have "served their sentence".

BTW, it wouldn't bother me if true pedophiles were executed, or at the very least castrated. The sticky point here is though, do we still keep in prison people that have served the punishment given them.

The part that scares me is, Why didn't they find, if they were true pedophiles before trial? You have a chance to use unstable/insanity plea before trial, but you can't go to trial and lose, then ask for the insanity plea. People don't understand, just because its sickos that is being affected now, doesn't mean the rest of us can't be caught in the same trap later on other crimes. Now we can go with the safe bet for the most part, stay out of trouble and you have nothing to worry about, but unless you have a crystal ball, can you know for sure what will happen tomorrow? you can hit someone by accident but they claim you did it on purpose. Above all, strict harsh sentences, get it right the first time.
In order to have a guinea pig to try things out on, you have to find something that no one will have a problem using. Well, who gives a two ***** about a Sex offender? Perfect for the deal.

So, I'm assuming you, as a sex offender, are trying to distance yourself from pedophiles on a sports board. Do I have that right? Dude, this is a college sports board. There are people here from HS diplomas all the way to Ph.D.'s. This isn't the NAMBLA site. We're intelligent enough to deduct that you have some serious issues with this. It's not rocket science.

Well, if you don't care to reply then don't, of course since it's there like the majority of the U.S. we are compelled to do so. As a citizen who pays attention to what is going on, I look at the whole picture, not just what I think affects me now. But, as usual, the intimidation tactic, is, if you speak about it or question it, you must be one. Well, that doesn't work with me. No matter if you have a drivers permit or a degree from harvard.

Sum, I feel all criminals should be punished harshly but that group should include more than sexual predators. I also would like murderers and gang bangers to be in a registry but good luck getting that done. There's a beach out here where many people like to get that all over tan by going topless or totally naked. When talk started about enforcing the law those people who went topless would have been cited for indecent exposure and required to register as a sex offender -----for life.

I personally feel that in a lot of cases the gov should announce the time and place where a sexual predator is released and let the chips fall where they may.

When we stop trying to protect the children, we won't be worth spit.
