Hey, if you really want some comments do what Julie Mack did, and mock the people who leave comments.

Can't fault his reasoning. Too bad he didn't come here, but good luck to the young man.

I don't buy the distractions thing. Takes two to be distracted.

Mike Thomas (KC coach) is a former Saginaw guy, and so is Preston Murphy (RIU staff). You do the math. "Hey Murph I got this player......"

Is moving 700 miles away what's best for the kid, or what's best for the KC Coach?

RE: TJ Buchanan Commits
Sounds like TJ is comfortable. That's good.

I suspect he will do very well, in time. He has areas where he will need to improve on (shooting) but athletically he is very much up to the task to play A-10.

Distractions? I would call that spot on, even without knowing any specifics. He's a kid inspite of his physique. Getting out of Dodge, swimming in unchartered waters will stretch him.

I know some kids would rather stay home. Play it safe. It's more comfortable. Fine.

Most kids want and need the experience of getting out of the nest. I know many want to for the wrong reason but learning that is part of growing up.

TJ reportedly has a great head on his shoulders. Whether he decides in time to return or if he stays he is better for it.

Kudos to the Saginaw connection too. Until they talked TJ was only left with a "Promise". Not a real choice IMO.

Other than Joe Haklin (who left after one year) I haven't seen a KC basketball coach in decades who I would trust. Sadly, Norrix has always had the better coaches, KC gets the talent.

RE: TJ Buchanan Commits
Update:

TJ Buchanan seems to be on the short end of minutes this year.

2011-12 he averaged 20.6 minutes played.
2012-13 he is averaging 10.5 minutes played in 8 games (9 possible, DNP against Ohio St)

RE: TJ Buchanan Commits
It's pretty easy when you search "Buchanan". It's like the 2nd or 3rd thread that comes up, and the only one in WMU bball.

It's not like I searched 2+ years of threads to find it.

RE: TJ Buchanan Commits
I went to a lot of his games when he was at K-Central. Truthfully, I'm glad we passed on him. Always thought he was way too ball-dominant to be a good PG at the next level. The team consistently played better when he was on the bench. That's a telling sign- that and the multiple suspensions from games he received for failing to show up to class, for violating team rules, etc. No thanks. Wish him all the best at Rhode Island, but I think WMU is better off without him.

WOTS was- the only thing that kept him from getting a high major offer was he had no outside shot.

^Oh, and this is really contributing to the discussion.

This is what you do. Someone has a piece of information that "might" add to the discussion and you mock it. It's as if you're jealous that others may know something that you don't. It's so petty, soooo petty 05-nono

I mean CD makes a good point, its nice that he didn't make a new thread so we could track where TJ where the discussion had left off. I, for one, thank EA3 for the good research and update.

Knocking what kid?

Buchanan? Pointing out his drop in minutes is a knock?
