Just back from the game we won 38-14. But I still don't know how good ths team is Maine and Akron aren't the best and we got beat soundly by UW. Looking at the Big East other then WVU and maybe Pitt I think Syracuse can beat UofL,Rutgers,USF,Uconn,Cincy.

SU first real test will be the USF game in 2 weeks.

I agree. USF just has too much speed. If the game was at the Dome, I would have a little more confidence, but I think USF will be a loss. Based on what I have seen so far, SU's chances of beating USF and Pitt and WV are very, very low. All the other teams in the BE, I think SU's chances are much better, although Louisville seems to be improving at a steady rate. This SU team is still not very good, but vastly improved. SU still has along way to go though, before we can start counting on BE wins. We are still at least a year away, and more probable 2 years away from challenging in the BE.

I am still trying to arrange things to get to the USF game. That would be awesome.

Heck UC should beat the Cuse or maybe its the other way around. Most of Big East has looked really bad this year.

That my opinion too other then WVU who I think we have no shot at everyone in the Big East looks beatable its a down year IMO. Pitt looks beatable because of their Freshman QB. Syracuse can win IMO

Syr has no D1 level defense- too soft. We're still at the bottom but there's a sliver of hope. We'll be better next year.

Temple would rape us.

After three games it is apparent we cannot open up holes for the running game which will hurt us as the season goes on. You can see flashes in the defense, receivers, QB, and running backs but I am really concerned with the offensive line. As down as USF is they should be able to handle Syracuse rather well. We have not matched up and defeated a BCS level Florida team in a very long time...probably sometime in the 90's with McNabb (not sure). Probably not going to fare well against the Mountaineers either just because they know how to win football games. The true test will be how the Orange handle the rest of the very beatable Big East during a down year. I still think we are two years away but hopeful for the Pinstripe Bowl should all the chips fall our way.

I don't know if I'd call USF down. This was a 7-5 team last year. Beat a FCS team, got trounced by a top 10 team. I'd say we don't know enough about them. But they do play a pair of Sun Belt teams and if they stuggle with them, then we have a gauge.

I think Cuse could surprise some people this year. We know especially in its inaugural year that the Pinstripe is going to want Syracuse, Rutgers or UConn who will buy up tickets en masse.

I agree with your post. I think USF's defense will be as strong as it has been. It doesnt have the names like JPP, Selvie etc. But its probably deeper and more steady. The offense looks deeper and better in OLine, the running game is loking good. So the big question mark is how will the pasing game come along. Right now USF's WRS are not experienced nor deep so against a team like UF the were a nonfactor and led to many of BJ's bad decisions. If they improve and we get AJ Love and Sterling back for Big East play s expected then we will be better off. If that happens USF wil be a very dangerous team in Big East.

IMO, WVU is going to get better and better as the season wears on and Geno gains experience. If the Mountaineers come out of Baton Rouge with a victory, they could roll through the season unbeaten, if there are no major injuries to key players - and they don't beat themselves, which WVU has been prone to do at times...

Syracuse will not beat USF at USF.

USF record 5-0 all time against Cuse.

2005 W 27-0
2006 W 27-10
2007 W 41-10
2008 W 45-13
2009 W 34-20

USF record 5-0 all time against Cuse.

2005 W 27-0
2006 W 27-10
2007 W 41-10
2008 W 45-13
2009 W 34-20

Past scores is no indication for future scores. But in the end, I agree with you. I think SU loses the the Bulls. Those all time records against SU came in lowest 5 year period in SU history by far, and WV, Pitt and Cincy also have beatup on SU during this low period. But last year was the closest SU has played USF so things are improving.

Can someone post me USF's series record against WVU home & away?; I think they have the Mountaineer's number, especially at home.

USF has a 3-2 lead on WVU in the series. WVU won the first 2, with USF having won the last 3 straight. But I think the series will be evened up this season... 05-mafia

I thought it was 2005 and 2006 that were the WVU wins, and didn't bother to look it up. So shoot me... 07-coffee3
