Now Syracuse too will get the SNY treatment...

Quote:Syracuse University Athletics has enhanced its already expansive media exposure in the metropolitan New York City area with the completion of one of the most comprehensive regional television packages in the country. SNY, TV home of the Mets, Jets and BIG EAST Conference, will provide the Tri-State area and satellite dish subscribers with an unprecedented level of SU programming.

SNY anticipates providing more than 300 hours of live game telecasts and replays, classic game re-broadcasts, the weekly Syracuse Sidelines show with football coach Doug Marrone, basketball coach Jim Boeheim and lacrosse coach John Desko, and other additional content. Additionally, SNY will offer significantly increased coverage of SU football and basketball on its nightly Geico SportsNite news show.

Syracuse University Athletics programming has aired on SNY since the network’s debut in 2006. Regional telecasts of Syracuse games and ancillary programming will be available in some 14 million homes throughout the state of New York and on satellite via Direct TV and the Dish Network. Currently scheduled Syracuse Athletics programming coupled with content that is in development would create more than 350 hours exposure for the Orange.

Statewide coverage kicks off Saturday night when the Orange host Maine at the Carrier Dome. The game will be televised live beginning at 7:00 pm by Time Warner Cable Sports in Syracuse and will carried live on SNY and Time Warner cable systems in the Buffalo, Rochester and Albany areas.

“We are excited that we were able to enhance our programming with our great partners at TWC and SNY”, said Director of Athletics Dr. Daryl Gross. “We thank them for the opportunity for our partnership to become incredibly global and secure our visibility in NYC and all over the Empire state and the country. We will continue to represent our great state of New York as New York's college team as all of our teams are becoming nationally successful. We look forward to distributing and presenting our teams and brand to the entire Orange nation.”

Time Warner Cable Sports in Syracuse expects to offer its subscribers at least 365 hours per year of live game telecasts, game replays, coach’s shows and additional programming. In addition to Time Warner’s Central New York region, Time Warner cable systems in the Rochester, Buffalo and Albany areas plan to carry all TWCS game telecasts and coach’s shows. Syracuse Athletics programming has appeared on Time Warner Cable, and its predecessors Adelphia and Cooke Cable since 1984.

Syracuse University Athletics coverage is also available digitally on the Orange All Access multimedia platform at SUAthletics.com. Last season, more than 3.6 million video clips were viewed by 2.62 million unique visitors. As part of its expanded agreement with the Syracuse University Athletics, Time Warner’s Roadrunner customers in Central New York will receive a free subscription to Orange All Access.

On radio, the Syracuse ISP Sports Network stretches throughout the state of New York and beyond, in 23 markets, including AM 970 “The Apple” in New York City, and can also be heard in Ohio, Pennsylvania, New Jersey, Massachusetts, Vermont and Connecticut. It airs more than 214 hours of live and previously recorded programming. More than 90,000 Syracuse fans follow the Orange on Facebook. Together, these media platforms form the Orange Empire Network, which blankets the state, country and world with unprecedented coverage of Syracuse University Athletics.

How'd this go unnoticed today?

Now SNY has all 3 schools that claim NYC. This deal was rumored to be in the works when Uconn made its announcement earlier, but I thought it was going to be with YES.

Yea I think its even better if all 3 of us are together on SNY. It also diminishes the argument that this is a pro-market or a ND/PSU town or whatever other semi-legitimate/used to be true nonsense that the outsiders like to come up with. While my Mets are awful on the field, I think as a television network they've really created one of the top RSNs in the nation. I just wish they'd take this same type of excellence and transform the team while they're at it. The Red Sox and Bruins have taken NESN to massive heights even so far as to get it carried on the major cable systems in the Carolinas.
