The Sun Belt -- 10 years from now
We've all seen how much our conference has grown in the first 10 years as a FB playing conference. Give an overview of where you see this conference in 10 years, or give a headline from a newspaper you might see in 2020. Make no assumptions/jokes that your team will be in another conference. Dream big!

Mobile Register headline, Novemeber of 2020:
#14 South Alabama Edges Out #19 Troy In The Battle of Bama To Finish Undefeated, Makes BCS Claim.

Shreveport Times..

La Tech administration miffed as inclusion into newly crowned AQ Confrence Sun Belt denises admission based on lack of progress by that university in any way shape or form to be competative in FCS WAC.

Within the next 5 years we will see an SBC program hit the Top 25 rankings. We will also see the SBC virmly surpass the MAC as a successful conference. Within the next 10 years we will see a more lucrative television contract, and 4 teams playing in bowl games.

Headline - Baton Rouge Advocate, December 2015
The Kingfish Turns Over In Grave - ULM 24 LSU 13 (Independence Bowl)

FIU pays 2 Sun Belt schools $1 million each year to come play the Big East Champs in state of the art, 45,000 seat stadium.

The Sun Belt is the top non-AQ conference and FIU is defending Orange Bowl Champs. 03-cloud9

The longest this conference has ever gone without any defections is eleven years and we've only gone that long once. Since then the longest we've gone without defections is seven years. We just had one in UNO and perhaps the only defection we suffer in the next ten years is Denver, but I highly doubt it. Of our (soon to be)ten football members, I'll be surprised if more than seven are still in the conference ten years from now.

10 years from now:
1. Still have gridlock, Dems vs Republicans in Washington.
2. Folks will still be bitching about the BCS.
3. Tech will be touting "seperation" as a member of the SWAC.
4. Muts and Troy will still be kicking sand in each others face and wrestling in the day school sand box.
5. Sun Belt teams will still be moaning and groaning about their lack of respect.
6. If I'm still here, I'll be one of the few internet posters that was born before television.

I can't tell you where we'll be as a conference in 10 years. All I can tell you is that we'll have a great 20 year anniversary logo that's twice as good as the 10 year version.

2020 SBC Football Preview:
FIU will be the sleeper pick this year, look for them to finally have their first winning season and make a run for the SBC Championship.

Game story for SoFla Sun-Sentinel, opening weekend 2020
Trailing Penn State by six points and with his team facing fourth and goal at the Nittany Lion two, 86-year old Howard Schnellenberger inexplicably sends out his field goal unit.

After the game, Schnellenberger thanks Penn State for the $2 million dollar guarantee on the game and says it will go a long way towards the Owls' stadium, scheduled to open in Fall of 2021.

Howard can stay as long as his heart can take it, but if he is still around in 10 years... 0h-boy!

As for the stadium, BOG meets thursday (former president Brogan, now the chancellor basically says it's good as done!). Plus ground breaking started a while ago, formal ceremony in October. So you have some false reporting in your headline. (however, it may of been a little funny a few months back).

La Tech has a few realist on their board starting with Dwayne of Minden, but outside ol' DOM & a hardy handful they are so stubborn about their life w/o the WAC they cannot function.

Most SBC stadiums at present should show La Tech we are not standing still. Whoever thought 10 years ago the WAC would ever have a BCS Bowl Buster? Hell, the Broncos were in a league with North Texas at one time, but UNT with its new football palace will go into warp speed to catch up to what Boise State has become. Mark it in 3 inch headlines!

At this point, anything is possible. Except for MTSU beating the University of South Dakota Coyotes. That will never happen.
