While I agree that burning Korans in a publicity stunt is stupid and provocative, can we give this meme (It will increase terrorist recruiting) a rest? Like these fools were actually "moderate" to begin with. Like they really needed another EXCUSE to use to riot and kill innocent people?

Whether one likes her or not, Michelle Malkin had a column on just this today, where she documents a whole slew of incidents where Muslims got "inflamed" over stupid, trivial things of which many had absolutely nothing to do with Islam.

Quote:Shhhhhhh, we’re told. Don’t protest the Ground Zero mosque. Don’t burn a Koran. It’ll imperil the troops. It’ll inflame tensions. The “Muslim world” will “explode” if it does not get its way, warns sharia-peddling imam Feisal Abdul Rauf. Pardon my national security-threatening impudence, but when is the “Muslim world” not ready to “explode”?

At the risk of provoking the ever-volatile Religion of Perpetual Outrage, let us count the little-noticed and forgotten ways.

In the body she recounts many incidents that some of us may have forgotten.

She finishes with this conclusion:

Quote:When everything from sneakers to stuffed animals to comics to frescos to beauty queens to fast-food packaging to undies serves as dry tinder for Allah’s avengers, it’s a grand farce to feign concern about the recruitment effect of a few burnt Korans in the hands of a two-bit attention-seeker in Florida. The eternal flame of Muslim outrage was lit a long, long time ago.

I think she hit the bullseye. Time to quit tiptoeing, to quit bending over backwards in order to avoid offending them. They will use ANY excuse. This doesn't mean that I support the nut in Florida. Not. at. all.

Why do muzzies come here and then expect us to accept their ways when they won't accept ours? To make it worse, they want to kill people, any people, when they don't get their way. We shouldn't let any more in to this country - we can find American taxi drivers. Now I'm hearing that the overseas Muslim world will take it as an offense if the mosque is moved. They probably get really mad when someone burns the damn thing down half way through construction. It's been said in this an many other threads that they'll kill you if you offend them but don't give a **** if they offend you. This is as much about principle as it is about anything else.

Let me know when the Muslims start self policing the way the Christans are with denouncing
what the pastor is doing.

I have not heard one group protest what happend 9 years ago.
I have not hear one group protest what happend to Van Gogh/

Until then I don't care how "offened" they get.

I'm offended by what happened on 9-11-2001
