North Texas appears poised to rework its men's basketball schedule to accommodate a national television broadcast of its game against Western Kentucky, multiple sources close to the situation have told the Denton Record-Chronicle.

UNT will play at Western Kentucky in a nationally televised game on ESPN Feb. 12.

UNT is currently scheduled to go on a two-game road swing to MTSU and WKU on Jan. 6-8.

UNT and the Sun Belt are negotiating compensation that would cover the extra travel expenses UNT would pick up due to changing its schedule.

The move would allow the Sun Belt to feature its top two teams of the last several years late in the season when the NCAA selection committee members are beginning to gauge what teams are worthy of at-large bids to the NCAA tournament.

UNT has been to the NCAA tournament in two of the last four years and returns the four of its five starters from its Sun Belt tournament championship team.

So then what you are saying is that instead of playing UNT when the students are out, we will be playing UNT at the end of the season and on national TV?
