We have a similar situation at ASU and if the NCAA denies his request then I may go to Indianapolis and chain myself to something. Derek Johnson is transferring from Texas to ASU because his son was born prematurely recently and his family is 15 minutes from Jonesboro. His son is still in the children's hospital.

I've seen them grant the waiver for kids who wanted to be three hours from a sick grandmother. Denying Derek's request would be downright evil.
