Middle Tennessee, Troy continue to show way in improved Sun Belt

This isn't your father's Sun Belt.

Actually, since the conference is only 10 years old, it's more like ... this isn't your older brother's Sun Belt.

Once the laughing stock of Division I, the conference has made huge strides over the past decade and has got the commissioner talking (gulp) BCS bid.

"Most conferences a third of your teams are competing for a championship," commissioner Wright Waters said. "Our top third needs to set its sights on being a BCS bowl team. If Hawaii, Boise State, Utah and TCU can do it, in my mind I don't see any reason why our teams can't do it."

Wow. That's high praise. I look for our middle level teams to have a good year as well.

A nice report on the Cajuns as well and I do think we will surprise people this year. His only mistake is that our BCS home game is vs. Oklahoma State on a Friday night on ESPN 2 rather than Ole Miss. We play at Ole Miss for their homecoming.

Both of those teams are beatable for the Cajuns.

The story is dated August 9th (today) but I read this last week somewhere. Same opening line and same story. Wonder what that's all about?

Sounds like the Jonesboro Sun writers.
The first 3 or 4 days of practice, the articles seemed almost identical.
