I'm going to attempt this using a little humor and history. I only did football schools.
FIU Brawlers (For obvious reason). Although it is a pretty cool nickname.
FAU -Sea Hawks, Eagles, Falcons, Vultures, Strigiformes, ANYTHING but Owls. Any other bird of prey is scarier and cooler than an owl.
Not exactly intimidating....well except he is sharing a tootsie pop with a naked boy
Middle Tennessee Pedagogues. After a little wikipedia research apparently this was an unofficial nickname they used before adopting "Blue Raiders." A pedagogue is basically a teacher. There is nothing more I feared or loathed growing up than a mean teacher.
Middle Tennessee Pedagogues "We are going to school y'all @$$!!" Corny I know.
Troy Bucks Again with a little research (troyalabama.com) I found out that the city of Troy was originally called Deer Stand Hill because of the deer that would roam the area. It was later renamed after the Attorney General of North Carolina Alexander Troy (not sure why). Although I understand the lameness of the their towns history but since there is no connection to the ancient civilization of Troy or the Trojans. I figure they could honor their towns actual history even if it is lame. Plus I'm sure the condom jokes get old.
Well at least the colors are right...
Get it??
North Texas Dallas-Fort Worth Markets - Yeah I know it doesn't exactly slip right off the tongue but they should honor it to remind better conferences of their only appeal.
It's big.
Louisiana-Monroe Pharmacists - ULM should change their name in honor of their pharmacy school being that it is the only reason people not from that area go to that school.
GOOOO PHARMACY!!!
Western Kentucky Tighty-Whities Bowling Green is home to the Fruit of the Loom world headquarters so why not?? I'm sure they could donate the uniforms like Under armor does for Maryland.
I could see these guys on the sideline....
Arkansas State Hog Hunters An ode to how much you hate the University of Arkansas.
Louisiana Ragin Cajuns COME ON, you CAN'T change the best nickname in college sports.....
