RE: 2010 Football Posters?
What he's saying is that in 2010 we'd rather be us than North Texas.

You've won like 10 games in the last five seasons.

You are the bottom of the barrell.

Go back a 4th year, when Middle tied for a co-championship in 2006, and you guys went 1-5 in OOC, with your only win coming against a 1-AA.

Compare our champion's OOC record from the past 4 years combined, and you get exactly ONE more D-1A win than North Texas had during our four years back at the start of the decade.

My goodness, it's like we've launched into the stratosphere.

Yeah and champions or not, Middle Tennessee had as many FBS OOC victories in the 2009 season alone, as UNT did in their four year run.

Good for you. Now tell us about your streak of conference titles and the trips to the NO bowl that you earned. Your kinda act like a baby jumping up and down in a high chair yelling me, me, me. 01-wingedeagle

And you're kind of like a guy in his thirties talking about how good he was in his prime, how he should have made the big time and wondering where it all went wrong. It didn't all go wrong, you just were never actually that good, your competition was just that bad.

Rave on with your childish prattle.:youmoron:

Have a beer on me in the adult rec softball league, forgotten champion.04-cheers Just be careful rounding third(if you get there) your knees aren't what they used to be.

I would rather be a forgotten champ than to never have been one at all. But, please don't let me get in the way of MT 2nd place parade of the message boards. You guys are going to set a record for look at me post in an off season.

Well I guess that's the difference between you and me. In 2010 Blue Raider fans are pretty happy with where they are, Mean Green fans are not. 2001-2004 isn't doing a whole lot for UNT these days, we live in a what have you done for me lately society, especially when it comes to sports.

No doubt you guys have a good thing going. No one is going to be on top forever. Troy included. However, some are never going to be on top. Give me a good run over a period over mediocrity for a lifetime. Twenty years from now people will look at the years from 2000-2010 and say NT owned the beginning and Troy owned the end. MT's runner up in 2009 will not matter.

Football failiure to live up to expectations is the sole property of the Muts. Have fun trashing UNT while we're down. You still can't finish and take a Belt crown for yourself. Five Belt teams have played in the NO Bowl; Troy, UNT, FAU, ASU and the Muts. 4 earned their way in and one backed in because another bowl wanted the Belts #1 team. Muts can thank Troy for their trip to New Orleans.

Talking about the past is getting us nowhere it's all about the future. I believe in MT moving forward and I wouldn't want to be where UNT is now, even if it meant getting to be where they were for the first half of this decade. I believe that MT's future is brighter than UNT's future and I believe UNT's former glory will fade further and further into obscurity. UNT will bounce back and be a top half team again, they'll beat MT again, they'll win conference championships again, but they'll never return to what they once were. I'm happy with where we are and confident in where we're headed.

And just FWIW, we no longer play in a league where being second place is a terrible thing. The Sun Belt has reached the point where we're consistently putting out at least two quality teams a year, something that hasn't always been the case.

There were a lot of moving parts when it came to us getting to New Orleans and it's not just because GMAC wanted Troy. We earned a bowl last year, we would have been bowling regardless, but had it not been for an agreement reached between the schools, the conference office and the bowls involved, we may have ended up somewhere much further away than New Orleans. The only way we were guaranteed a favorable bowl destination, was by the conference securing Troy's place in Mobile opening a spot for us in New Orleans.

Troy had their part in getting us to New Orleans, but it's not like we would have been left high and dry had they balked at the move. What's more, what would Troy have stood to gain from refusing to comply? The move made sense for all parties involved, granted, we got the weaker opponent and thus got the win, but Troy got to play in Mobile and came up just short of getting a very good win against an extremely tough and talented opponent. Troy played their part in getting us to New Orleans, but we would have been bowling either way.

You do not back in to a bowl with 9 regular season wins. You do however back into a bowl with a losing record. See NT football 2001. Only team ever to play in a bowl with a losing record. What a joke.

Correct me if I am wrong but last year there was only one bowl tie in for the Sun Belt. Had the other conferences filled their bowl tie ins, wouldn't MT had been left at home? Only Troy earned their bowl bid last season. MT fell into a bowl because of other conferences failures. See how important it is to win the conference.

MG,

You have to be the most self-righteous son of a ***** that has ever posted on a message board.

You talk trash and you're being witty. Someone else talks trash and they're childish.

If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

But at the end of the day, you still hired a high school coach. You have averaged two wins a season for more than my nephew's lifetime (he's four), and much like your beloved school was back in the day of Paul Blake's Armadillos, you are a joke in the college football landscape.

High School coach. Two wins a year. Punch line.

Now blow me.:odie:

Even without another tie-in, we've had an at-large bowl team...what? 3 out of the last 4 years? There are nearly always at-large spots available.

You'll get no argument out of me that it's important to win the conference, before 2010 it was the only way to guarantee yourself a bowl game. Just like I've always said, going undefeated in conference is the only way to guarantee yourself an outright championship. What I'm interested in now is seeing if with two guaranteed ties, how long it takes before a bowl reaches out and takes a chance on a third SBC team. Hopefully we'll three teams with at least 7 wins this season, if we can get three bowls(and hopefully three wins) we can improve our conference bowl record to 8-8.

I'm sure it's a public relations thing. If you told too much of the facts, it wouldn't be palatable for a viewing audience.

You have to be the most self-righteous son of a ***** that has ever posted on a message board.

You talk trash and you're being witty. Someone else talks trash and they're childish.

If you can't take it, don't dish it out.

But at the end of the day, you still hired a high school coach. You have averaged two wins a season for more than my nephew's lifetime (he's four), and much like your beloved school was back in the day of Paul Blake's Armadillos, you are a joke in the college football landscape coach.

High School coach. Two wins a year. Punch line.

Now blow me.:odie:

Do yourself.

You sound like a fourth-grader.
