ASU started football in 1911 and split games with Paragould High School.

FIU started football in 2002.

FAU started in 2001.

Thats right we beat FIU in starting a program too.

In 1911 MT went 0-2(and scoreless) losing to Sewanee and Fitzgerald and Clark.

Our heated rivalry with Fitzgerald and Clark is one shrouded in mystery. We played three times, the location of two of the three games is unknown...

It's kind of funny looking back at stuff like that.

HAHA! I actually received a full-paid scholarship to go to Troy, but I just didn't want to nor did I have a good feeling about it.

1913 MT Football Team:

I think it was 1913. I can't find a record of anything earlier. We appear to have played just one game and beat TCU in Denton 13-0. Lost to them in Ft Worth the next year 0-40. Here is the link to the information

I got the info from College Football Data Warehouse. I believe it is an accurate source for information on most teams. Of course, information from before the 30s is often a little suspect for all schools.

FWIW, I think Fitzgerald and Clark may be one of the couple of now defunct colleges that was located in Tullahoma, TN. I think it was on the same location as an earlier college there known as the University of Middle Tennesse. Several years ago there was an old postcard with a picture of the 'old main' of the university of Middle Tennessee listed on ebay. At that time I did some research and, IIRC, Fitzgerald and Clark was the other college that was open at a later time at the same location in Tullahoma.

Denver started football in 1885 and played Colorado College in the first game West of the Mississippi. We lost 12-0, but CC used non-students in the game, so the CC victory was tainted.

DU dropped football in 1961.
