Jags will be eligible to compete for Sun Belt Championship and Bowls in 2013. I'm not sure if Jags will be playing any Sun Belt teams in 2012 or not.

I believe we'll play a full/mostly full conference schedule in 2012. AtlantaJag could answer the question better, but I believe we have to start meeting the scheduling requirements in 2012 prior to becoming an official member in 2013 i.e. certain number of D1 games. That would require conference assistance, which WW pledged.

Maybe. But I think Sun Belt is fairly safe.

USA has an FBS home. UTSA, TSU, Charlotte, App St., GSU, GA State, etc. etc. etc. do not. They're the ones that should be worried.

I don't see the SBC losing enough teams to cease to exist (or losing any teams, really).

I think you're right on Jag89. Those away game in '11 are going to be very, very challenging. SidJag posted the schdules earlier today on this site, but we can't get too much South Alabama on this site. Maul 'em Jags!

You are correct, BIR. It's been reported that the SBC will help South secure some games against some conference teams. That will prove to be very difficult. I do hope we'll be prepared for that experience.

Absolutely right.
I'm already looking forward to 2014 when our home schedule will be four Sun Belt schools, Navy and Mississippi State. We may not win many, but I expect we'll see some great crowds.
