Does this conference fail to classified as a football conference, but can still have all members compete in other sports...effectively making all BE schools that play FBS football independents? Would this basketball conference then keep the BE basketball units, but each school would be able to sign their own deals for TV rights, etc.? Couldn't they form a football colation that was not a conference to help with scheduling, but not be a revenue source?

Jason

They lose their FBS vote.
They probably lose their seat in the BCS.
The units stay because they are still a legal hoops league with a big cushion.
They can continue to negotiate their own TV and bowl agreements and maintain their scheduling.

That answer all of the questions?
