Will Troy Continue to Dominate Belt in 2010?
Quote:Top returners
RB DuJuan Harris, RB Shawn Southward, WR Jerrel Jernigan, WR Tebiarus Gill, OL Tyler Clark, OL James Brown, LB Daniel Sheffield, CB Bryan Willis, P Will Goggans, K Michael Taylor

Key losses
QB Levi Brown, DE Brandon Lang, DE Cameron Sheffield, LB Boris Lee, LB Bear Woods, DT Kevin Dixon, DT Eugene Kinlaw

I think we'll be fine on offense, but our defense is really taking a hit. What do you guys think? Will the Trojans be able to maintain our position at the top or will we slide down the list?

No smack.

I think youre due for a slide down a bit. Not a far fall but probably loosing 2-3 belt games by close margins.

MTSU is probably ready to steup up to Top Dawg this year.

FAU is a good year away, We have some great talent coming in but with the inexperience on our line we just wont be able to contend.

2011 could be a banner year for us.

If Troy isn't at the top it very well could be FIU. MT will wilt under the pressure of all the preseason hype.

Are you talking about the same way Troy wilts under pressure in bowl games and against OOC opponets?

What exactly do you mean by wilt under the pressure? Because, to me, that sounds like you think we're going to be hovering around .500. If all you mean is you don't think we'll win the conference, that's an entirely different thing, we could finish third in the conference and that would by no means be us "wilting under the pressure" It's not like anyone is picking us as a runaway favorite. Most publications I've seen have MT, Troy and stAte as the top three teams, most of which has MT as their pick to win the conference, but all acknowledge that Troy and stAte both could be on top.

Wilt is not in this team's vocabulary.

RE: Will Troy Continue to Dominate Belt in 2010?
I still dont think FIU will vault up the SBC rankings. I know I rag on them and Im not this time but they took a MAJOR step backword last year and this year its ALL Cristobals kids. I think they will possibly be Bowl Eligible but other then that I dont see them at the top.

They have a lot of great athletes but they dont seem to be able to come together as a unit. Cristobal can recruit for sure, now he just needs to show he can coach and win. I would have to think that if Cristobal does not get FIU bowl elligible this year, he will either be gone or on a VERY hot seat. Hes out of time.

I bought into the FIU hype last year, just like I bought into FAU's hype in 2008, Once bitten twice shy.

No I'm talking about the way MT wilts when they look across the field and see Troy.

I would think MT and its fans would be very unhappy with a a 3rd place finish in the conference. On paper MT should be the favorite.

Why not ?
It's the dreaded off season.
A message board where, who knows can post what they want.
They have been the champ four times.
and last but not least......
it would save Todd Dodge's job

No smack.

I believe TROY wins the belt again, even with a little know DLine..."Super" Mario, Boudreaux, Corley, Searcy, Massaquoi...Plus, you have a couple of DTs in Flowers and Dudley that accomplished some things as juco stand-outs...Until MT beats us, I'm stickin' to my statement...

Yep, Troy should still be strong on offense moreso than defense but they will certainly be a top 3 Sun Belt team. Good coaching is goes a long way for any program, but especially in this league.
