Other than your own school who would you pick?


I hate to say it but I would pick Troy.

Right now it is Troy.

I think it's Troy regardless. Four straight years with at least a share of the conference title...that being said I think we're right behind and in position to steal the spotlight, but we've got to come out strong, beat Minnesota on ESPNU and keep going from there. I think both teams entering our nationally televised game 4-0 could do wonders for the conference, hopefully the game is not a dud like the last few have been and I mean that no matter the winner. As much as I'd like to beat the Trojans like a drum this year, for the good of the conference I'm hoping for an exciting game for four quarters(maybe more) to capture the national audience...and of course a Blue Raider victory.

i can't decide between MTSU or Troy. I would probably pick MTSU because of the proximity to a major tv market area

I don't think you can separate what happens on the field from the rest of the university. To people outside of the conference, they will think of a school's overall image when they see or hear about them. When a Sun Belt team plays on T.V., people see the stadium, and the campus. If you play in a dump, or have a shabby looking campus, that effects how others view a school. If your fans look a little simple, that effects how others view your school. If these situations are repeated through out the conference, then it will reflect poorly on the conference as a whole.

Let see which school commits to an athletic budget of over $30 million, and tries to build or renovate a stadium to be a show palace. Then I'll talk about having a face for our conference.

So...because the websites say the Sun Belt is the worst FBS conference, the worst team in the conference should be the face of the conference?

Does that mean that in basketball the face of the conference is somewhere in the bottom third of the conference standings? ULM is the face of conference basketball?

Well I was just questioning your logic, you explained your logic as to how WKU was the face of the conference, by virtue of the fact that they hold a similar place in the pecking order of the conference as our conference does in the pecking order of conferences...dead last. So I simply followed that logic and applied it to basketball, where is our conference in the pecking order of basketball conferences? About the bottom third, so clearly the the face of our conference in basketball must be someone around the bottom third of the standings in basketball, right? So is it ULM? Are they face of our conference in basketball?

Troy has the most Momentum with multiple 1st rounders over the last few years, and 4 consecutive confrence titles and 3 bowl appeareances in 4 years.

MTSU would be a close second with thier outstanding performance last year.
