Joy in Tree Hugger Land
I heard sound bites yesterday from a tree hugger celebration over the decision to allow the Windmill farm of the cost of MA; One tree hugger said "This is much cleaner than fossil fuel energy and we need more of this. You don't have to worry about MINE DISASTERS or OIL RIG EXPLOSIONS."

I'm starting to think tree huggers may have been involved in both, the timing is certainly suspect being so close to the Windmill Farm announcement and dingy Harry's decision to put Crap and Trade at the top of his agenda. 05-stirthepot

I am more than a little shocked that the rich & powerful NIMBY contingent (the Kennedys will be able to see it from their estate - the horrors) wasn't able to derail this.

Since Teddy's dead I don't think they really care any longer. The kids all seem to prefer to hang out in New York City.

There are enough that say that "clean" energy is too important, and some others who think there may be some positive aesthetic quality.

Maggie's Farm had the complaint that they think this will require perpetual gov't subsidies to keep going. Ugh. (Of course for the political left, that's a feature, not a bug.)

White House spokesman says "NO new offshore drilling till the cause of the explosion is determined." Don't let a good crisis go to waste. So far clamped down on mining and oil exploration, next up nuclear energy limitations.
