I went ahead and put this in a new thread.

Here are the 2008 Rankings from the Center for Measuring University Performance with a focus on Big East Schools. The entire report is available by clicking on the link below. Here are the rankings for Big East Schools. These rankings are more objective and useful than the popularity contest published by the U.S. News and World Report.

Top Research Universities 1-25 (Public and Private)

University of Pittsburgh
University of Notre Dame

Top Research Universities 26-50 (Public and Private)

Georgetown
Rutgers

Top Research Universities 1-25 (Top Private Universities)

Notre Dame
Georgetown

Top Research Universities 1-25 (Top Public Universities)

University of Pittsburgh
Rutgers
**University of Cincinnati (UC is very close to top 50 in publics and privates. I'm proud of my Bearcats!!)

These morons can't be very good at research if they think WVU's name is the University of West Virginia. It's WEST VIRGINIA UNIVERSITY. Only an idiot thinks otherwise...
