It's nothing but helping more Democrats like New Orleans. Something you, even though you're a complete fuken moron, should support. After Katrina, Gulfport and Biloxi were essentially ignored. Had that tornado hit Madison county, again, it would have been ignored. It didn't. It hit the heavily Democratic, read entitlement and government handout-dependent, Yazoo county. If Madison had been hit, which has happened several times, you'd have heard not a damn peep. Pretty sure your liberal *** area is being paid for by fiscal conservatives who actually pay taxes also.
Actually, if you would notice by their postings on here, there are there are quite a few conservative NIU alums. The townies in DeKalb are quite conservative outside the students that live here(many actually commute from the 'burbs so they don't live here. Go to Naperville a city of about 150,000. See how many liberals there are. Many of the suburbs are right leaning. Hell, go to southern Illinois and you ARE in the south and is very right.

You hate the federal government until you need it then it is great. Screw you righties. You are not getting my money! Let Mississippians pay for the cleanup.
Actually you will hear Barbour saying we have the resources to deal with the damage. Lesson learned from Katrina. There is federal programs that will provide assistance and we will apply and be granted that money. It is afterall OUR money.
Maybe one day you dumb*** libs will figure out the federal goverment doesn't produce money, they take it.
How exactly is Mississippi going to afford it when it is one of the, if not the poorest state in the country? If they get federal government help, I will be paying for your crappy state to fix itself. I guess the positive will be that many of the shacks and trailers will finally get indoor plumbing.
The poorest people in Mississippi pay just as much to the Feds as you. Like Go said, they will just be getting there own money back, not your nickel.
So what you are saying is that very few in Mississippi pay taxes. Would be interesting how much they get back in federal funding?

RE: Haley Barbour wants my money.
Most of the "Federal Disaster Money" allocated in a "declared disaster" goes to the local governments to pay for the expenses of the initial first responders..police protection, EMS, set up emergency medical care, evacuation, search and rescue crews, etc.
It isn't a handout to residents, because hopefully most people had insurance to pay for the loss. Its only if the victims didn't have insurance and meet the financial guidelines, do they get direct assistance.

The difference is, I don't see a bunch of Missipians on TV wondering where the Federal Government is with their free money... just like during Katrina.

How utterly charming.
Pity they can't be as enlightened as the good people of Illinois, where even the dead vote.
What a load of parochial bull****.
