"Least fiscal responsible in history"
Bush admin the least fiscal responsible in history.
Quote:The George W. Bush administration "arguably was the least fiscally responsible in history," Walker says, based on the swing in the federal budget from a $230 billion surplus in 2000 to a $1.2 trillion deficit in 2008.
Gee, and all this hand wringing going on now? Where was the outrage then? That darn media didn't tell us Bush was spending us poor!!!!
To be fair, he says this admin has to come to grips with reality, and I agree.

RE: "Least fiscal responsible in history"
Sure let's put it all on Bush DB, let's not talk about the political policies that existed before he was elected.
The Bush administration must accept the Iraq war, but remember that it was a result of the 9/11 attacks and who had the opportunity on at least two occassions to nab and/or remove Bin Laden? The "sub prime" mortgages were started before his administration.
I've always thought that there is always more to the story than what the politicians would like you to think, it is called self preservation in their world.
Always proud to be a Bronco.

RE: "Least fiscal responsible in history"
Sub Prime happened in 99 with the repeal of the Glass-Steagall act from the depression. I get that Acer. But he still took over and had a budget surplus, by the time he left he was adding incredible amounts of money to the national debt. That can't be denied or rationalized, he spent money like a drunken sailor while at the same time cutting taxes.
Now I hear all kinds of protests, Dick Armey organized groups calling themselves grass roots campaigns protesting pretty much the same thing. Why now and not then?
Also, going after Iraq for 9/11 is like washing your car because your arm pits smell.

Are you f..ing serious? I heard more btchn, myself included, about Bush and Repub spending. That was a big a factor in Dem and Obama gains in 08. However, you must admit Obama and Dems are making Bush look frugle. You have to get over this Bush thing. I know you love Obama, but please.

There is no defending Bush on spending. I could understand if our deficit was at or near the war costs or if, at the very least, he had not tried to cut taxes, execute a war, and increase spending. But he tried to be all things to all people (sort of like Obama)...
